It’s officially been announced that the show will be concluding with its sixth season in 2022.

The show’s creator Dan Fogelman released a statement on social media on Friday, May 14th confirming the news.

“Whoever casually first said ‘All good things must come to an end’ never had to end their favorite thing,” Fogelman wrote. “While sad to have just 1 season left, also grateful to NBC for letting us end the show how, and when, we always intended.” He continued by promising to “work hard to stick the landing.”

A few of the star’s popular cast members also shared their thoughts about the show ending. Mandy Moore, who played Rebecca Pearson on the show, wrote, “Officially official. One season left of my favorite job. You can bet we will be soaking in every single moment.”

Moore continued her thoughts on her Instagram story sharing, “I’m already VERY emotional about my favorite job coming to an end. BUT … We have a whole season to wrap things up the way it was always intended.”

A few of Moore’s castmates chimed in on her photo to show their support and sadness over the show’s final season as well.  “Doesn’t seem real,” Eris Baker, who played Beth and Randall’s daughter Tess, commented on Moore’s Instagram with a crying emoji.

“What a ride it’s been … what an incredible season to come,” Susan Kelechi Watson, who played Beth on the show, wrote with three red heart emojis.

This Is Us season 5 is currently airing on Tuesdays on NBC.
