Maria Menounos Explains 40-Pound Weight Loss!

In the newest issue of Ladies Home Journal, the 35 year-old host of Extra says she dropped 40 pounds after ballooning to a size 14 in college.
Back then, Maria used to eat seven slices of pizza in a single sitting! It probably didn’t help that she worked at Dunkin Donuts from age 13-19.
However, Maria realized she needed to change, so she cut back slowly and started adding some healthier food items to her daily intake — and it paid off big time. Check out the video to see more about Maria’s drastic transformation, including the surprising before picture!
Maria was able to lose the weight within a year. But even when she was thinner and working as a correspondent on Channel One news in California, she still had problems with eating unhealthy things and dieting improperly.
“My weight didn’t fluctuate — I knew enough to keep my portions small,” she explained. “But there were consequences to eating so much junk. I was in and out of the hospital multiple times for exhaustion, malnutrition and dehydration.”
“Just because you’re thinner doesn’t mean you’re healthier,” she warned. Now, she chooses healthier foods to support her body. She also keeps a food and exercise log.
