What do The Young and the Restless (Y&R) viewers want for Christmas? Danny Romalotti, obviously!
Actor Michael Damian has officially revealed his plans to return to Y&R in December, as reported by Soap Opera Digest (SOD). He will appear in multiple episodes, beginning on December 22nd.
“Excited to be returning to Genoa City, working with all my amazing Y&R friends and family!” the star wrote on Twitter.
The breaking news arrives two days after co-star Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) posted an excerpt of a text conversation on Instagram, hinting that another character return was on the horizon.
“Dearest Michelle, hoping all is wonderful with you and the family!” the unidentified texter wrote. “So thrilled to see you soon and work with you again!”

The veteran soap actor has kept busy in recent years on a variety of film projects, both in front of and behind the camera. He directed Lindsay Lohan in Falling For Christmas, and just wrapped up production on another Lohan flick, Irish Wish.
“I’m just thrilled they never killed my character!” Damian told SOD’s podcast, Dishing With Digest, back in 2020. “It means the world to me and I really appreciate it.”
“I’m just thrilled that I was able to bring some happiness, joy, to people’s lives and inspire through the show and through the character,” he said at the time.
Damian’s character, Danny, was last seen on Y&R in 2013. It’s expected that he’ll be reunited with another returning alum, Michael Graziadei, who plays his son, Daniel.
