Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino Pleads Not Guilty To Tax Fraud

With Real Housewives of New Jersey star sentenced to jail time for bankruptcy fraud, one would hope “The Situation” would learn his lesson, however there seems to be enough room for two reality Jersey stars in the courtroom as The Jersey Shore star faces his own legal issues
On Thursday October, 23 Mike Sorrentino as well as his brother Marc appeared in a Newark, New Jersey courthouse before a U.S. District Court judge for an arraignment on tax fraud charges.
In September, the brothers were named in a seven count indictment for filing false tax returns from 2010-2012.
The brothers had been charged with “conspiracy to defraud the United States government as well as filing false personal tax returns in order to avoid paying taxes on nearly $8.9 million of income.”
After the arraignment both men granted $250,000 bail and are ordered to stay away from alcohol, surrender their passports and be subject to random drug testing.
The Situation had the arraignment date moved because the previous date came into conflict with his filming of Marriage Bootcamp with fiancée Lauren Pesce in Los Angeles.
Mike’s lawyer is adamant that his client did nothing wrong, “Michael has denied the allegations and we are confident that when all the facts are all known it will be clear that he did nothing wrong,” lawyer Richard J. Sapinksi stated.
The trail is now set for December 2 and if convicted “The Situation” could have a real situation on his hands as he would face up to 11 years in prison while his brother would face 14.
