Miranda Lambert Talks Drastic Weight LossPublished on December 9, 2014.
Miranda Lambert has lost twenty pounds — and now she’s talking about it.
The 31 year-old singer opened up to Marie Claire magazine about her new body, which is one dress size smaller than it was last year.
“When you have to walk out there in front of thousands of people, it does feel good to know your sh–‘s not jiggling,” she said.
Miranda was refreshingly honest about the struggle, which many women endure. “I’m just like anybody else, insecure and scared of looking bad or being criticized,” she said. “But everybody’s making this big, giant thing about it. It’s way too much focus on women’s bikini photos, and I hate it. Why do we care? I want women to love themselves, whatever they’ve got going on.”

It’s normal for people’s weight to fluctuate, so it’s nice to hear Miranda downplay the importance of a small weight loss or gain. She joins a growing number of celebrities speaking out about our obsession with weight: Tina Fey joked in her book Bossypants about how it’s okay to be a little bit fat or a little bit thin, and Jenna Fischer has spoken out against the phrase “post-baby body,” saying, “If there’s one thing I could do for a new mom, it’d be to alleviate her of any guilt or any stress over the idea of having her body look a certain way.”
