Nicole Eggert Files Police Report Against Scott Baio

After a very public back-and-forth between former Charles in Charge co-stars, Nicole Eggert and Scott Baio, in which the actress accused the actor of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor, Eggert has now filed a police report.

On Tuesday, February 6, Eggert’s lawyer Lisa Bloom confirmed Eggert had spoken with the Los Angeles police. “Nicole answered all of their questions and told her story of sexual abuse by Scott Baio when she was a minor,” Bloom said in a statement to the New York Daily News.

“We appreciate the Los Angeles police detectives’ interest in this case, and we will fully cooperate with their investigation,” she continued. “Many have reached out to Nicole and me to say that they witnessed inappropriate behavior from Scott Baio when Nicole was underage. We provided those names to the police today.” Other reports indicated that Alexander Polinsky, who played Adam Powell on Charles in Charge, did accompany Eggert to the police station to confirm he witnessed some of the alleged inappropriate behavior from Baio.

Baio has consistently denied the allegations and after the scandal hit the media following some tweets from Eggert a few weeks ago, Baio appeared on Good Morning America where he continued to state he had evidence that nothing happened. Both parties also confirm they did have sexual intercourse one time, but it was when Eggert was 18 and after the series had ended. When asked on GMA if he was worried Eggert would go to the police, Baio said it didn’t bother him at all: “Why would I have a concern over something that I didn’t do?”

Eggert’s story is different though as she states that assaults started when she was 14 and continued until she was 17 which she says is when she had sex with Baio, and he was in his mid-20s. “I was a willing participant to an extent,” Eggert told Megyn Kelly on January 30. “There was a lot of manipulation that went into it. It wasn’t a ‘hold me down rape me’ situation, but I was 17.”
