One Life To Live Star Patricia Elliott Dies At 77

Soap opera star and Tony-winner Patricia Elliot passed away at her in Manhattan on Sunday, Dec. 20, her neice Sally Fay has confirmed. Elliot was 77 years old. Elliott’s death comes after a long battle with cancer her niece stated.

The actress is best known for playing Renee Divine Buchanan on One Life to Live, appearing on the show for over 20 years, after originating the character in the late ’80s and continuing until 2011.

In 1973, Elliott was honored with a Tony Award for her portrayal of Countess Charlotte Malcom in her first ever Broadway play, Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. She is also known for her many other Broadway roles including a part in The Shadow Box, which earned her another Tony Award nomination in 1977 and her part in The Elephant Man which she starred in opposite David Bowie.

Aside from her soap opera work, she also had several other roles on TV including guest roles on shows such as Kojak and St. Elsewhere and worked on CBS Radio Mystery Theater from 1974 to 1982.

Elliott is survived by her aunt Claudine Walker, and her cousins.
