Pamela Anderson Didn’t Feel “Pretty Enough” To Model
Published on January 27, 2015.At 47 years old Pamela Anderson has been an iconic sex symbol for several years, showing off her amazing body in Baywatch from 1992-1997 and of course having more Playboy covers than any other woman. Believe it or not, she has never had confidence in her looks.
In an interview with Parade, Anderson spoke candidly about many aspects of her life including the abuse she endured as a child, becoming a world famous model, being a mother and starting her very own foundation.
“I’ve just signed with Next Modeling agency for commercials and appearances. That is funny. I’ve never felt pretty enough to be a model. I think I’ve provoked feelings with how I look. But not as a beauty but as a mischievous little rascal!,” she stated of her own self perception.
While many would probably be surprised to hear that from a Playboy cover model, Anderson thinks that part of the problem is because she was defined by how she looked before she could tell anybody who she really was.
“I think I was defined a bit unfairly, But that was then and this is now. I believe that I was defined before I could define myself. I came here young and I think that people are getting to know me a little bit more now as time has progressed.”
She continued to surprise by revealing that she has no fear of getting older as many in Hollywood do. “I don’t really feel like I want to chase my youth. I want to get old. I want to experience all the seasons of my life. I just don’t want to be afraid of it. And I think in this industry you’re surrounded by a lot of fear of getting older and fear of your looks leaving you. And I thought ‘Well, I’m lucky then, because I never really felt that great looking.'”
