With the enormous success of Furious 7, it is no surprise that the cast was on hand for the 2015 Teen Choice Awards; however, one award for the film and its actors was very special as late actor Paul Walker won for Choice Movie Actor in the Action/Adventure category.

Walker died while Furious 7 was still in the middle of filming, making the movie even more important for fans and causing Walker to win the award posthumously, beating out other stars like Ansel Elgort, Dylan O’Brien, Taylor Lautner, Theo James and his own Fast and Furious co-star and friend Vin Diesel.

Just before the news of Walker’s award win, the cast of Furious 7 was on stage accepting the award for Choice Movie in the Action/Adventure category where they paid tribute to Walker.

Diesel began by stating how the cast are more than just co-stars and are a family before continuing with, “I can’t stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us. One of the best blessings in our lives was the fact that we had the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us.”

He also added a shoutout to Walker’s daughter: “And since this is a Teen Choice Award, you beautiful teens, there is one teen in the audience that is part of the family that kept us going. It’s Paul Walker’s family – his parents and his brothers – that kept us encouraged while we were making Furious 7, but there is one very, very special teen here, and her name is Meadow Walker.

Diesel is Meadow’s godfather and he also named his recently born daughter Pauline in honor of Paul who he often refers to as his “brother.”
