November 30, 2014 will mark the one year anniversary of the tragic passing of actor Paul Walker, 40, who died in a single vehicle crash that killed both Walker and the driver of the car, Roger Rodas.
One year after the loss of his brother, Paul’s youngest brother Cody Walker, 26, reflected on Paul’s life, career and dedicated charity work.
While Paul was a passionate actor he was also one of the most down-to-earth and approachable people to encounter according to family, friends and co-stars.
His big-heart led him to founding his own charity, Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW) which is dedicated to providing aid to areas affected by natural disasters.
After Paul’s death, Cody has worked to continue his older brother’s career and legacy in several ways including stepping in as Paul’s body double in order to finish filming his last movie, Furious 7, as well as continuing work with ROWW.
“ROWW continues to be, to function, to help others even after our primary contributor, my brother, Paul Walker has passed. I know he would be so stoked to know that. ROWW changed his life, and he was so proud of it, ” Cody told E! News.
The organization has provided aid in several ways over the past year including sending help to Arkansas where a tornado destroyed the town of Mayflower.
Cody was also part of a team that went to the Philippines to provide aid and medical supplies to those affected by Typhoon Haiyan which was the deadliest Typhoon in the Philippines’ history.
Cody talked about personally working on ROWW after Paul’s passing, “These missions are truly life changing for all involved. I’m so proud to be a part of this […] This year has been extremely challenging but also extremely rewarding, ROWW would like to thank all of our supporters who have gotten us through this very difficult year. Thanks to you, Paul’s legacy lives on through ROWW.”
Cody also added that, “I am so lucky to have had him as a big brother,” and stated, “Just live your life to the fullest. Laugh a lot, love and find your true happiness.”
Family, friends and fans will see Paul on the big screen one last time when Furious 7 hits theatres on April 3, 2015.
