Following Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker, filing her own wrongful death suit against Porsche, Walker’s father also sued the company for the wrongful death of his son.

In the court documents, Walker’s father who is also the executor of Walker’s estate claims that the Porsche Carrera GT that Walker was traveling in did not have certain safety pictures that he is arguing could have saved his son’s life, as well as the life of the driver, Roger Rodas.

His arguments are similar to those of Meadow Walker’s including the car lacked a stability control system, side-door reinforcements and a breakaway fuel line that could have potentially stopped the care from catching fire when it crashed. Following the investigation, police determined that the cause of the accident was actually due to speed; however, Mr. Walker’s lawsuit states, “absent these defects in the Porsche Carrera GT, Paul Walker would be alive today.”

Porsche has not yet responded to the new lawsuit, but they have responded to Meadow Walker’s, stating, “Mr. Walker knowingly and voluntarily assumed all risk, perils and danger in respect to the use of the subject 2005 Carerra GT,” Porsche stated. “That the perils, risk and dangers were open and obvious and known to him and that he chose to conduct himself in a manner as to expose himself to such perils, dangers and risks, thus assuming all the risks involved in using the vehicle.”
