Queen Elizabeth Invites Meghan Markle And Prince Harry To Join Her For Church

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are spending some quality time with the Queen during their visit to the U.K.!

The 93-year-old monarch asked if Harry and Meghan would join her for a church service in Windsor on Sunday morning. “It was a really sweet gesture that the Queen asked them to church,” a source shared with PEOPLE. “It’s telling in the sense that these two are still her family. And as a family, they all love each other.”

For the occasion, Meghan and Harry appeared to be in good spirits with smiles on their faces. Meghan could be spotted wearing a navy fascinator headpiece alongside sapphire drop style earrings. The Queen arrived in a light blue tweed ensemble with a matching hat.

This month marks the last round of Meghan and Harry’s official appearances as senior members of the royal family. Despite the change in roles, the Queen has made it clear she fully supports Meghan and Harry in this next chapter of their lives.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family,” the monarch said following their announcement to step down.

“I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life. I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family. It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
