Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice have pleaded guilty to fraud.

This is a change from last year, when they pleaded not guilty on dozens of charges including bank fraud, wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud. Teresa could face 21-27 months in prison, while Joe could be be jailed for even longer. Since Joe is not an American citizen, he could also be deported. Check out the video for the full details.

In a statement, Teresa said that she takes “responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago.”

The 41 year-old also said that she plans to address the Court directly at sentencing. “I will describe the choices I made, continue to take responsibility for my decisions, and express my remorse to Judge Salas and the public,” she explained. “I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family — especially my four young daughters, who mean more to me than anything in the world.”

Their attorneys intend to fight for a probation deal so that the couple can live out their sentence at home and take care of their children.

Proseecutors allege that the Giudices used false documents to inflate their incomes, applied for a mortgage and loans under false pretenses and hid money behind a bankruptcy filing.   Joe is also accused of failing to file tax returns from 2004-2008.
