Robin Williams’ Daughter Gets Tattoo In Honor Of Him
Published on October 23, 2014.Robin Williams, 25-year old daughter Zelda has not been very active on social media since her father’s death she but did take to Instagram to reveal a tattoo in honor of her late father.
The picture shows a hummingbird on the side of her right hand, above her father’s birth date “7. 21. 51.” which is inked on the inside of her wrist.
Along with the picture of the tattoo that she had done at West Hollywood’s Shamrock Social Club Inc. she captioned, “For poppo. Thank you to the incomparable @dr_woo_ssc for so beautifully bringing my reminders to life. I’ll always put my hand out to shake with a smile.”
Robin Williams committed suicide on August 11, 2014 at the age of 63 to the shock and extreme sadness of many.
When friends and family came together to mourn Williams they were given wristbands with a hummingbird image on them and had the phrase, “Love the Stillness of Life” printed on them.
Zelda sharing her tattoo is only one of the few times she has spoken out publicly since Robin’s death but she did take to her Twitter account on World Mental Health Day on October 10.
She tweeted about the need to end the stigma of mental illness and urges anyone to seek help without the fear they will be judged and finally tweeted, “My dad openly fought depression his whole life, both in general and his own. No matter what anyone says, it is a FIGHT. Fight on.”
After Williams’ death, Zelda suffered harassment on social media including photoshopped pictures of her father as well as accusations she did not care enough about him because of the lack of pictures she shared of him.
She did not shut down her social media accounts however, only chose to use them sparingly, “As for this Instagram, I don’t know in what capacity I’ll continue using it in the future, but I’m leaving it up regardless so that fake accounts hoping to use my name or misuse my family’s photos will get no traction,” she said of her social media use.
