Despite both being very popular stars, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have mastered keeping their family life out of the spotlight and only sharing about their children on their terms.
On Wednesday, October 16, Reynolds surprised everyone when he confirmed the birth of the couple’s third child, and seemed to reveal the gender, in a Twitter post.
The actor shared a picture of himself with the baby and Lively in British Columbia, Canada where he is from.
“I love B.C.,” the Canadian-born actor, 42, said in a tweet Wednesday urging people to vote for climate policy.
“I want my daughters to experience the same natural playground I grew up in,” he said in the tweet seemingly revealing the sex of his baby. “On Oct. 21, the candidate you vote for will SHAPE CLIMATE POLICY. I’m proud of the climate progress made the last 4 years. Click http://Elections.ca for voting info. #Capilano”
While the newest addition to the family is in the photo, the face has been blurred out.
Reynolds and Lively, 32, are also parents to daughters Inez, 2½, and James, 4½.
Back in early October it was reported that the pair had once again secretly welcomed a child sometime in the summer, after they also didn’t make announcements of the births of their first two daughters.
Following the arrival of their first daughter in 2015, Reynolds revealed he loved being a father to daughters, adding, “if I could have nine daughters, I would be thrilled. Really, like I genuinely would be.”
“My brothers and I, there’s four of us, we would destroy the house,” he recalled to EW Radio. “I was eight and I could patch and drywall at eight. We could actually repair an entire hole in the wall in our house within 15 minutes.”
“That’s part of the reason I don’t want boys, because I don’t want a wiffle house. I just want the house to be normal.”
