In the past few months, actress Shannen Doherty has really opened up about her brave battle with breast cancer.
Now, it has been revealed that Doherty has been able to reach a settlement in her lawsuit against her one time manager Tanner Mainstain Glynn & Johnson, who she sued because he failed to properly secure her health insurance.
The diagnosis of her breast cancer was first revealed back in 2015 because of the lawsuit in which the 45-year-old claimed that it was because of her lack of health care coverage that her breast cancer spread.
According to documents, Mainstain was in charge of paying her insurance premium through the Screen Actors Guild; however, he failed to pay it without informing Doherty. It wasn’t until the former Charmed actress was able to re-enroll with her SAG insurance in 2015 that she find out she had breast cancer. “Plaintiff was also informed that, had she been insured and able to visit her doctor, the cancer could potentially have been stopped, thus obviating the need for the future treatment (including mastectomy and chemotherapy) that Plaintiff will likely have to suffer through now,” the documents stated.
While the pair have now reached a settlement, the amount of money has remained confidential.
In her updates to fans, Doherty revealed that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and she was undergoing chemotherapy, and after eight rounds she will begin radiation. She also underwent a single mastectomy back in May.
