Star Wars Episode VII Has A Confirmed Title
Published on November 6, 2014.There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the newest addition to the legendary science fiction movie franchise, Star Wars created by George Lucas.
In 2012 the Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm and almost immediately announced plans to begin production on an additional trilogy.
Early Thursday (Nov 6) afternoon, Walt Disney Pictures tweeted out the official title for the first planned instalment of the trilogy.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens has completed principal photography. #TheForceAwakens #StarWarsVII,” their tweet read along with a photo of the franchises signature Star Wars on a starry background with The Force Awakens in the middle of Star and Wars.
Episode VII began pre-production in October of 2013 and has been in production since April 2014.
Director J.J. Abrams will return along with George Lucas acting as a creative consultant and has a scheduled release for December of 2015.
The Force Awakens takes place 30 years after the 1983 film Return of the Jedi and brings back original Star Wars actors Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca and Kenny Baker as R2-D2.
There will also be new cast with Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie and Lupita Nyong’o.
The film has just finished its final day of shooting and will continue into post-production to create the cinematic masterpieces we have become accustomed to with the Star Wars films.
