‘Survivor: Winners At War’ Reunion To Take Place Virtually During Show’s Finale
Published on April 14, 2020.Survivor: Winners at War has the largest cash prize in the franchise’s history, however, the $2 million check will have to be delivered virtually during the show’s three-hour May 13 finale and reunion episodes.
Due to the ongoing public health and safety situation, the live reading of the votes and reunion show that follow it in front of a studio audience – will not take place. Instead, all 20 cast members will connect virtually and appear throughout the finale, as well as after the reading of the votes for a modified reunion show. The reunion will follow a two-hour penultimate episode which will air on May 6.

In a press release from CBS, the network said, “During the finale, Jeff will also virtually connect by video with all 20 players to discuss the highlights of the season.” This means it is likely Probst will read the finale votes while the final three vying for the cash prize will be shown on split-screens from their respective remote locations.
A source close to the situation told Entertainment Weekly that plans are being worked out still, but the format of the three-hour finale and reunion will likely mirror how the show has played out in the past, with occasional breaks from the action on the island as Probst interviews players as they are eliminated, and there will also be time set aside after the winner is announced for a reunion show in which other players are interviewed – but this time all those interviews will take place via video.
In other Survivor news, CBS has delayed filming on season 41 for the franchise which was set to being production on March 24 in the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji.
