‘The Masked Singer’ Reveals Celebrity Behind Banana

Published on April 23, 2020.

With only a few contestants left, the competition on The Masked Singer is heating up. However, on the Wednesday, April 22, episode of the FOX game show, things became slippery for one contestant.

In this week’s episode, Frog and Kitty went head-to-head, followed by Rhino and Banana. The loser from each group then faced off on the smackdown round of the competition and the judges and audience voted on which smackdown performance was their favorite–meaning the less favorable one had to be sent packing.

As always, judges Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke returned as judges, and Nick Cannon as emcee. Our celebrity guest judge this week was Sharon Osbourne.

Frog and Kitty went head-to-head first, with Frog performing Pitbull’s “Fireball.” Following Frog’s performance, he revealed new hints in a backpack. The items in his bag included a “Thank God it’s Frogday” sign, a pair of sneakers and an ice cube tray.

Following Frog, Kitty sang Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors.” The items from her bag included a Pope hat and a dragon, and told the judges that her “clues should help grease up your gears.”

In that round, Frog won the most votes between the pair – meaning Kitty had to face the loser the next round.

Banana performed Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” while playing the piano at the beginning of his performance. Banana’s clues included a cat, a bottle of bug spray, a backstage pass, and a Nashville crew sign. In addition to the physical clues, Banana revealed they suffered a massive injury that causes them to struggle with remembering lyrics.

Afterward, Rhino sang Justin Bieber and Dany + Shay’s “10,000 Hours” after they revealed that they always put pressure on themselves to succeed. Rhino’s clue bag included coal in a Christmas stocking, a house, a Tennessee flag, a seal with a bow tie and some music notes.

The Rhino won against the Banana, which means Kitty and Banana would have to face one another in the smackdown round. Kitty performance Sia’s “Unstoppable” and Banana sang “Brick House” by Commodores. Unfortunately, it was time for Banana to peel off and reveal which famous celebrity they actually are.

The masked celebrity behind Banana was… Bret Michaels!

Michaels is an American sing-songwriter and musician. He is most famously known as the lead singer of the rock band Poison.

Michaels will join other eliminated Masked Singer contestants so far: RobotLlamaMiss MonsterElephantMouseTacoBearSwanT-Rex, White Tiger, and Kangaroo.

The Masked Singer airs on Fox, Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
