The Masked Singer continued to entertain (and confuse) fans and judges as the remaining characters battled it out for another week.
On Wednesday, October 16, Flamingo, Leopard, Thingamajig, Skeleton, Black Widow, and Butterfly all performed, and the quality of the performances really had judges wondering if everyone competing are professional singers!
Unlike the first few weeks, this time the characters sang individually and then were questioned by the judges before giving one final clue about their identity. Once everyone had competed, the votes were tallied to find out who had lost for the week.
Despite all the incredible performances it was Skeleton who ended up losing in the votes and had to be unmasked. After a lot of talk about always playing second fiddle and being behind the scenes, it was revealed to be Paul Shaffer who is best known for being the musical director and band leader during David Letterman’s Late Night and Late Show tenures. He also served as a member of the Saturday Night Live house band from 1975 to 1980.
Jenny McCarthy knew almost immediately who it was, and Robin Thicke agreed while Jeong was thrown off by clues hinting that Martin Short was behind the mask.
With Shaffer being revealed he joins the first four celebrities to be unmasked: the Eagle was Dr. Drew Pinsky, the Panda was Laila Ali, the Egg was Johnny Weir, and the Ice Cream was revealed to be Tyler Blevins, a.k.a. Ninja.
