The Top 10 List Of Forbes’ Highest Paid Celebrities 2015 Is SurprisingPublished on June 29, 2015.
When you wrap up the entire world of entertainment, including music, movies and sports, you get a huge list of very famous people, making a lot of money to entertain the masses.
Although the list is long, there are a certain few we, as fans, are used to seeing on the top of the “Richest” and “Highest-Paid” celebrity lists; however, this year’s Forbes Top 100 Highest-Paid Celebrities list is quite surprising.
While the guys in the number one and number two spots definitely make sense, there are some that many of us probably weren’t expecting to see them there. Floyd Mayweather nabbed the top spot with earnings of $300 million thanks to his May 2, 2015 fight against Manny Pacquio. Pacquio may have lost the fight, but he landed in second place with $160 million.
Third place isn’t too shocking as Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour has helped her earn $135 million to get near the top. One Direction landed in fourth. They have raked $130 million despite losing Zay n Malik.
Some more surprises come in the middle of the pack with Howard Stern, country singer Garth Brooks and author James Patterson taking the number five, six and seven spots respectively. They are clearly having a great year even though they probably aren’t the celebrities who come to mind when it comes to being highest-paid.
We see some big names tied for eighth as Avengers star Robert Downey Jr. and megastar Taylor Swift both pulled in $80 million for all of their hard work. Rounding out the top ten is famous soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, who earned $79.5 million, $27 million of which is from endorsements alone.
Some more surprises include Calvin Harris who landed at #17. While we know he’s famous, we didn’t know he earned that much ($66 million to be exact). Meanwhile Jay-Z and Beyonce were pushed back to the #28 and #29 spots and, even though it seems like everything is about Kim Kardashian these days, she landed at #33 with $52.5 million.
