It seems no old movie or series is safe with the onslaught of revivals and reboots and now, only days after Discovery announced it was bringing back Cash Cab, TLC has announced it is reviving the former hit reality home renovation series, Trading Spaces, for a 2018 debut.

In an announcement made on Tuesday, March 28 during the Discovery Communications Upfront Presentation in New York, TLC President and general manager Nancy Daniels, said, “TLC is back into home and property with Nate & Jeremiah By Design, our new show helping distressed homeowners turn disasters into dream homes. We are thrilled to expand in this space, and what better way to do that than to bring back Trading Spaces, the series that put property on the map.”

Trading Spaces originally ran on TLC for eight seasons from 2000-2008 and was hosted by Alex McLewod before Paige Davis took over for the second season. The series featured neighbors redesigning each other’s houses with the help of interior designers and they had no control over what their neighbors decided to do to their homes. Now, with HGTV being an extremely popular channel, Trading Spaces is the series credited with beginning the trend of home design and renovations series that have become so popular.

Returning TLC series include The Little Couple, Kate Plus 8, Outdaughtered, Little People Big World, and Sister Wives.
