Tracy Morgan Moves From Hospital To Rehab
Published on June 23, 2014. Updated October 15, 2014Tracy Morgan has been released from the hospital and is on his way to a rehab facility.
The 45 year-old 30 Rock star and comedian was severly injured in an automobile crash on June 7 when a speeding tractor-trailer plowed into the chaffeuered limosuine he and others were riding in. Comedian James McNair (who performed under the name Uncle Jimmy Mack) was killed in the crash.
While Morgan was in critical condition for nine days at a New Jersey hospital, but his condition has now been upgraded to fair. He has left the hospital and is headed to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to stay for several weeks as he recovers.
“While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go,” a representative for Morgan said in a statement.
Morgan and his fiancee, Megan Wollover, thanked the hospital staff for their ongoing support and care. “He and Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him,” his rep added.
The couple has also been vocal about thanking fans who have supported Morgan via social media. “Thank you so much for the outpour of support following the accident. Your well wishes mean more than you can imagine, and I know that Tracy can feel the love and positive energy,” Wollover posted on Facebook earlier this month.
