Ahead of the return of MTV’s hit series The Hills, with the all new reboot The Hills: New Beginnings, there has already been some very intense drama.
Over the past few weeks Stephanie Pratt has opened up about her drama with her brother Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag, revealing she no longer considers them family in a scathing rant on her podcast.
Now, Whitney Port, who has also rejoined the cast is opening up about getting swept up back into the drama nearly 10 years after the original series ended. “It is really intense,” she recently told E! News. “They have some deeply rooted issues that I would love for them to work out, but I’m not sure they’re at the place themselves where they want to work it out yet, so we’ll see how that all plays out.”
Port added that despite the reboot, she is trying to just avoid the Pratt drama. “It’s hard when we film,” she added. “There is this need or push to pick sides. They kind of want you to pick sides, but I’m really not that kind of person. I don’t know the situation enough or the issues they have enough in order to pick sides. And I just think that it’s more gray than black and white with them.”
The 34-year-old also added in the interview that it wasn’t exactly an easy decision to come back for The Hills: New Beginnings, and alluded to the fact that not all the cast . members have matured.
“It was a really tough decision for me to make to go back to The Hills,”she said “Honestly, I was scared. I’m 34 years old now, I have a child, I have my husband, relationships that are really meaningful to me and I didn’t really want them exploited or messed with.”
“In the end I decided that it would just be something fun and new to bring to my life. And I was excited to connect with everybody, see what everybody was up to, give them the benefit of the doubt that they’ve all matured and hopefully that we can make this a fun experience. I can’t necessarily say that that has happened, but it’s definitely been interesting,” Whitney said.
