Why Diem Brown Rejected CT’s Proposal Before Her Death

Days before MTV reality star, Diem Brown, lost her long battle with cancer on November 14, her one-time boyfriend, Chris “CT” Tamburello proposed to the ailing Brown.
Us Weekly magazine reported that while CT stayed by Brown’s side in her hospital bed he tried one last attempt at bringing the couple back together by popping the question with a ruby ring and a GoPro camera.
A friend told the magazine that his romantic gesture did not go as planned, “Diem joked that she hated rubies and said no.”
Undaunted, CT returned the next day with a different ring and tried the proposal one more time but once again received a “no” from Diem who “didn’t want to be engaged under those circumstances,” according to the friend.
While the two had a very turbulent relationship including breaking up and making up several times as well as arguing and being “just friends” through their time on MTV shows, they always cared for each other.
The couple shared one of the most romantic moments in MTV history when CT helped Diem get over her fear of letting people see her very short hair after it just began growing in after cancer treatments.
While on MTV’s The Challenge in 2006, CT took Diem to a romantic spot before removing her hat and bandana which she always wore to hide her head and told her she was beautiful and did not need to “hide” herself from him and they shared a passionate kiss.
Even though they went through major highs and lows in their relationship and were not a couple at the time of her death, CT has used social media to speak out for his love of his late girlfriend stating, “Our plan to be together forever hasn’t changed…it’s just going to take a little longer now.”
