Willie Garson’s Cause Of Passing Confirmed
Published on September 24, 2021.Days after the sudden passing of beloved Sex and the City actor Willie Garson, his cause of passing has been confirmed.
In the touching obituary published in The New York Times on Thursday, September 23, Garson’s family wrote that the actor passed away at 57 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. “William Garson. William Garson Paszamant, better known as Willie Garson to his many fans and throughout the entertainment industry, noted actor of stage, film, and television, has died at age 57 at his home in Los Angeles. The cause was pancreatic cancer,” the obituary stated.
They go on to talk about the term “working actor” and how nothing could better describe Garson: “”A working actor has been defined as ‘an actor who while never achieving stardom, has a long and productive career and earns a better than decent living and has the admiration of his peers,’ ” the obituary reads. “Nothing could better describe Garson. For the last four decades, he appeared in over 300 television shows and over 70 films.
Garson was best known for his role as Stanford Blatch, the best friend of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw, in Sex and the City and its spinoff movies. He had already filmed scenes for the upcoming reboot And Just Like That…
Garson is survived by his son, Nathen Garson, brother John Paszamant (wife Karen Paszamant), sister Lisa Clark, nieces Katie Clark, Jenna Clark and Amanda Clark and nephews Joshua Paszamant, Michael Paszamant (husband Scott MacFetters).
