Wilmer Valderrama Surprises Girlfriend Demi Lovato On Stage

Wilmer Valderrama, 35, and Demi Lovato, 22, have been notoriously private about their relationship over the years, but just recently the young singer has been more open about her love on social media, for all the world to see. On Wednesday March 18, Valderrama returned the displays of affection by giving his longtime girlfriend a sweet surprise when he unexpectedly showed up on stage.
Lovato was hosting her first ever Lovato Scholarship Benefit at the Troubadour in West Hollywood to raise money for those in need of mental health treatment and was after performing some songs was taking questions from the crowd and Perez Hilton.
Hilton asked her about Wilmer and if he was there tonight when she said, “My heart is broken that he couldn’t be here tonight,” only to be interrupted by huge cheers from the crowd as Valderrama appeared behind Lovato.
A shocked Lovato was almost brought to tears while the pair kissed to a large “Aww” from the crowd and Valderrama lead the audience in a rendition of “Happy Birthday” to celebrate Lovato’s three years of sobriety.
“I just got off a plane from Toronto and there’s a million things to say,” Valderrama told his girlfriend and the crowd. “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a role model like her. It’s been a long time to see somebody who has the courage to be exactly who she wants to be. If you’re going to take away anything from tonight, walk away understanding that, from today, life will get better.”
An emotional Lovato then kissed her boyfriend again before going off stage.
Valderrama’s sweet surprise comes only days after Lovato posted a sweet tribute to him on her Instagram page, crediting him with her achievement of three years of sobriety, “I wish I could put into worlds how grateful I am for this man right here,” she wrote along with a picture of the two.
“He still never takes credit and I want the world to know how incredible his soul is, I really wouldn’t be alive today without him. I love you Wilmer.”
