Worst Dressed At The 2014 Met Gala!

Sometimes big risks just don’t pay off.

That’s the unfortunate lesson for some of the stars who walked the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala, a fashion event known for its artistic, avant garde gowns. Take a look at the video to see the big misses of the evening!

Supermodel Kate Upton was universally considered one of the worst-dressed celebs, wearing a Victorian-inspired black gown that was tight and sheer in all the wrong places. Her odd pastel makeup and hair didn’t help, either! Met Gala gowns verge on costume, but this one is definitely the wrong kind of costume. We love Kate, but she needs a new stylist!

Katie Holmes’ mustard yellow gown was also a head-scratcher. It looked baggy and messy on her slender frame, invoking a kind of beer wench Halloween costume (or perhaps something from a high school play). Her tousled, wavy hair would be cute with a more tailored dress — but here it just adds to the messy look. Luckily, her makeup was gorgeous.

And in her first big fashion misfire, Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o surprised everyone with a strange flapper-inspired gown made of green beaded netting and feathers. We’d be able to forgive her rejection of the ball gown theme if she picked a winner — but this one was just strage.
