Y&R’s Melissa Claire Egan Announces She Is Expecting
Published on April 8, 2021.The Young and The Restless star Melissa Claire Egan has revealed on her Instagram that she will welcome a baby boy this summer with her husband Matt Katrosar.
“Very excited to share, Baby Boy Katrosar is set to arrive at the end of August,” she wrote beside a photo that showcases her beaming smile and adorable bump.
The announcement is bittersweet for the couple, who suffered the loss of two babies during a period Egan describes as full of “tears, stress, sadness, helplessness”. The couple has been married since 2014.
The daytime drama actress is hoping her good news reaches those who need it most. “To anyone going through this process or any kind of fertility issues, I feel you, I see you, you’re not alone. I wish I could jump through this phone and give you a big hug. Please do not give up hope. Keep trusting and have faith. You got this!”
In a separate Instagram post, Katrosar gushed about the news and, in particular, his wife’s resolve: “Forever impressed with my beautiful wife for her willingness and desire to share and help others that are struggling.”
Egan previously made headlines when she announced she was leaving Y&R in 2018. Luckily for fans, her cryptic “goodbye for now” proved to be a temporary departure.
No word yet on what this good news will mean for Y&R‘s Chelsea Lawson, who has been causing all kinds of trouble in Genoa City since Egan returned to the role in 2019.
