10 Things You Didn’t Know About Channing And Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s Relationship

They may be stunning and talented and at the top of the Hollywood A-list, but they are also down-to-earth, sweet, funny and very appreciative of their fans. The pair have were together for over 10 years and married for almost nine before they split, and fans couldn’t believe they called it quits! 10. Stepping Up
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan met in 2006 on the set of the hit dance movie Step Up when they were both 26. They had immediate chemistry, but it wasn’t easy for Channing to make a move on his co-star because he knew it wouldn’t just be casual. “I had just gotten out of a pretty long relationship, so I was in no way ready for another. I was trying to run from what I knew Jenna was – not someone I was just going to date,” he told Elle. Luckily, a friend talked him out of his fear and asking Jenna out, and “that night I showed up at her hotel room with a sombrero on, and that was it.”

Due to the fact they met on set, it turns out the Tatum’s first ever kiss was when they were filming scenes for Step Up. “We were basically together on the movie,” Tatum stated of how quickly their relationship formed. “It’s interesting now, because we can watch it and see; we can go, ‘Oh, wow, that was actually our first real kiss.’ As soon as the movie wrapped, we went back to L.A. and were together, and together ever since – never broken up. That’s nine years.”

The hilarious and loveable pair gush about each other, and talk about how easy life is together, but Jenna revealed that there was one thing they could just not agree upon or do together. As the cover model for the July/August 2016 issues of Women’s Health, the beautiful actress revealed she is vegan, but Channing just cannot handle the diet. “He really did try to be vegan for six months. The guy doesn’t like vegetables, which makes it tough. It was hard in the beginning because you want someone to be on the same page, but you’ve gotta let people be themselves.”

Two years after they met, Channing and Jenna became engaged in September 2008 in Maui. They then married on July 11, 2009 at Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, California. The pair had 220 guests including some of their Hollywood friends, while Emmanuelle Chriqui served as Jenna’s maid of honor and Haylie Duff was a bridesmaid.

It turns out that both Channing and Jenna love fairies, and they made sure to integrate that into their wedding day via their wedding cake. Made by Cake Divas, the cake was shaped as a magic castle and filled with fairies of several flavors including red velvet, chocolate and chocolate fudge.

After their wedding, the pair jetted off to Bali, where they unfortunately both got food poisoning and out of the four or five day trip only had one day where they could have an adventure. So, the first thing they did after feeling better was go and get matching tattoos! They both got tattoos that say “side by side” in Balinese. Jenna got hers on her left foot and Channing’s is on his chest under his rib area.

Given the fact they are two of the most gorgeous stars in Hollywood, the couple had no problem talking about how sexy and attractive the other is, and in fact have no problem talking about the most intimate parts of their relationship at all. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Channing did not shy away when he was asked about his sex life or if he is “energetic, sexually.” “I just lay there. I just lay down, sometimes I nap,” he joked before he really started to dish. “Yeah, she’s really athletic. We get down!” His answer didn’t end there, however, as he continued on, “We truly have all different kinds of sex. Sometimes it’s like, ‘Look, you gotta get this done. I gotta go to work.’ And that’s a real thing. To me, that’s us being completely open. … Then you have full-on, just completely totally connected otherworldly connections.”

In May 2013, the couple added to their family with the birth of their daughter Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum in London, England. Not long after, the pair confirmed they want more children, with Jenna stating in the summer of 2015, “I don’t know when, but we definitely want to.
2. The Simple Life
In February 2015, Channing and Jenna dropped over $6 million for a secluded Beverly Hills property that includes a 4,853 square foot home with five bedrooms and six baths, and a month later sold their Los Angeles property for $2.6 million. Despite living in the busy and celebrity filled area of Beverly Hills, the pair prefer to spend as much time as possible out in the country camping, or in their trailer, living the simple, quiet life and have also taken up rescuing horses, one of which Jenna gave to Channing for his birthday. “My wife and I go camping. There are no cell phones, no TV, no iPad, no nothing. We just sit by the campfire, and sip wine or beer, and talk,” Channing said of spending time away from the bustle of their busy lives and of the bustle of Hollywood.
1. Not Just Actors
Together, Channing and Jenna have started two production companies, 33andOut Productions and Iron Horse Entertainment. Their very first production was the documentary Earth Made of Glass which was selected to premiere at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.
