13 On-Screen Couples We Wish Were Real

Published on August 14, 2015.

While many Hollywood couples did meet on set, like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, there are many hot on-screen couples who never got together off-set, even though they seemed so great together. It just goes to show that the perfect relationships only exist on TV and in the movies. However, maybe it’s not fair for Hollywood stars to have the best on and off-screen romances. Here is Fame10’s list of the top hot and cute couples that fans wish would get together in real life.

13. Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt

Who didn’t cry when April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza) and Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) tied the knot at their surprise wedding on Parks and Recreation? This couple is so adorable on-screen, why can’t they date in real life? Sadly, Pratt married Anna Faris a few months after the series started and, truth be told, they’re pretty cute together. Plaza is also unavailable. She is currently dating director Jeff Baena.

12. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey

This hot couple first teamed up in 2003 when they played Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson) and Ben Barry (Matthew McConaughey) in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. They were brought back together again in Fool’s Gold where they portrayed Tess and Finn, a couple that loved to hate each other. In both movies, they were constantly fighting, but no one could deny that sexual chemistry or the fact that they look so good together. Could you imagine what their kids would look like?!

11. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence

Hollywood knew they found a winning pair when Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence starred in Silver Linings Playbook. Lawrence won the Oscar for best actress and Cooper was nominated for best actor. Since then, they’ve done two more movies together: American Hustle and Serena. Why can’t these two see that they belong together? Neither are married….so who knows…

10. Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan

It’s hard to believe this delightful and quirky on-screen couple have no sexual tension in real life. After watching these two snuggle, all fans wanted was to find their marshmallow or lily pad. However, while filming How I Met Your Mother, Hannigan was pregnant with husband Alexis Denisof’s children.

9. Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski

It was absolute torture watching The Office’s receptionist and the prankster salesman flirt constantly, wondering if they would ever get together. There was much rejoicing when Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) finally got hitched on the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls. However, this couple had no chance in real life as Fischer was married for most of the show’s running.

8. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio

Fans were teary eyed when Rose (Kate Winslet) let Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) sink below the ocean’s murky depths in Titanic, but viewers were just heartbroken that these star crossed lovers didn’t date in real life…at the very least, they owed it to their on-screen characters. Eleven years later, they were back together in Revolutionary Road, and this time Kate Winselt (April Wheeler) dies, leaving fans wondering: will there ever be a happy ending for these two?

7. Chris Colfer and Darren Criss

Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) and Blaine Anderson (Darren Kris) made hearts melt on Glee. The couple supported each other while facing adversity and who didn’t shriek with glee when Blaine proposed to Kurt. Yes, this couple has had its ups and downs, but they supported each other through everything.

6. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson

The young stars of the Harry Potter franchise Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) delighted audiences as they grew up playing wizards and witches at Hogwarts. True, these two never got together on or off-screen (well, except for their brief smooches in Ron’s fantasy in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), but if they ever became a couple, that would just be magical.

5. Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens

It wasn’t love at first sight for Mary (Michelle Dockery) and Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens), but once Matthew got past Mary’s prickly and judgmental exterior, he fell for her and they had the perfect Downton wedding. However, that on-screen spark failed to ignite any off-screen romance, and currently Stevens is married to Susie Hariet and they have two kids.

4. Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth

Who can count how many times Mr. Big (Chris Noth) and Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) got hot and heavy under the sheets in HBO’s Sex and the City. This on again, off again couple created more drama than any other TV romance, but audiences knew they belonged together. Off-set is a different story as Parker has been married to Matthew Broderick since 1998 and Noth tied the knot with Tara Wilson in 2012, who is 27 years his junior.

3. Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz

Considering he was a vampire and she was a slayer of vampires, it’s surprising they didn’t kill each other, let alone fell in love. The stars of the show that started the original vampire craze only found love on-screen, although they would have been such a hot couple if they ever dated in real life.

2. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright

As a couple, Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) are terrifying to watch on Netflix’s House of Cards. They are powerful, ruthless, and without mercy as they reign over the White House. If they ever teamed up off-screen, the Hollywood sign would tremble.

1. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling

The movie biz brought them together in Crazy, Stupid, Love where Ryan Gosling (Jacob) altered his playboy ways to be with Emma Stone (Hannah). They were brought together again in Gangster Squad and fans crossed their fingers that these two would make it out of the friends’ zone. Alas, they are both dating other people…but they will appear opposite each other in the musical La La Land.
