The past year was pretty big when it comes to Hollywood love. Some of the entertainment industry’s biggest stars were plagued with heartbreak and there were some devastating breakups, but on the other hand, many stars also found love in 2018. While some of these hookups are less surprising than others, they were unexpected in their own ways and although some have already called it quits, some are also still going strong! 17. Paulie Calafiore and Cara Maria Sorbello

The world of reality television got swept up into some serious drama with the relationship between Big Brother alum Paulie Calafiore and The Challenge veteran Cara Maria Sorbello. The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise fans know that in early January, Bachelor alum Danielle Maltby confirmed she was dating Paulie and things seemed to be going really well between the two and was getting pretty serious until it was reported that Paulie had cheated on Danielle with Cara Maria while filming season 32 of The Challenge. Eventually Paulie admitted what he had done while he and Cara were faced with some serious backlash from fans. “What I can say is Paulie has always said really, really good things about Danielle. He’s never said a bad word about her, he thinks the world of her. But I think that he found himself attracted to me and didn’t expect that and I think that, I really can’t go into details on anything. I guess if you really wanted to know you’d have to talk to him. He definitely cares about Danielle a lot and everything that he’s doing, even on social media, he tries not to post anything or engage in anything because he doesn’t want to disrespect her and what he had with her, just because she was always good to him and he loved what they had but I think he wanted something else, ” Cara Maria said of the controversial start to her relationship.

This hookup wasn’t overly surprising, but at the same time it is always interesting when a broken up couple finds their way back to each other. Model Bella Hadid and rapper The Weeknd previously dated back in 2016 before splitting later that year. Before long The Weeknd was romantically linked to Selena Gomez and the pair were hot and heavy before breaking up after 10 months of dating and it didn’t take long for the rapper to be linked to Hadid again. In April 2018 rumors surfaced that Hadid and The Weeknd were spotted making out at Coachella and since then have been spotted together many times. While they haven’t publicly announced their reconciliation, it is clear things are red hot between the two stars again and there are rumors an engagement might be coming soon.

After breaking up with musician Anthony Kalabretta and Pretty Little Liars coming to an end, actress Lucy Hale seemed to switch all her focus on her new show, Life Sentence, but was quickly distracted. In early February it was reported that Hale was dating her Life Sentence costar Riley Smith after the pair were spotted kissing during a Valentine’s Day dinner. A few months later it was confirmed that Life Sentence had been cancelled after only one season and while Smith and Hale’s romance seemed to continue, it didn’t last too much longer either. Reports indicated that Felker had stopped talking to his wife after he became close with Lambert while on tour in early February and then blindsided her with a divorce only 15 days after he met Lambert for the first time. It seems that 2018 was the year of whirlwind romances, and that includes for Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin. Although the pair had been previously linked in 2016, their romance didn’t last long and it seemed they were better off as friends. The singer was rumored to be dating Nashville actor Sam Palladino and the pair kept their relationship rather quiet before finally going public on social media in the summer.
