Real Housewives: 8 Weirdest People Who Appeared On The Show

Published on March 15, 2016. Updated October 27, 2016

Bravo’s reality series Real Housewives has been around for a long time now, accumulating a number of different shows with multiple seasons. Reality television is full of quirky personalities, it’s what makes the show entertaining! The Real Housewives franchise is no different. In addition to the many divas and their drama, there have been some exceptionally weird people who have appeared on the show — whether it’s cast members, friends or even family members. These people prove that money can’t buy normal! This list takes a look at some of the 8 weirdest people we’ve seen on the show thus far:

8. Kim Richards

Kim Richards was a regular cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for quite a while, she’s now taken a break from the show to focus on her sobriety. Kim Richards has spent a lot of her time filming for the show battling an addiction with alcohol and at times also taking prescription drugs and as a result her behavior has been extremely odd. She’s definitely a little bit weird even when sober, but it’s a lovable quirkiness. There have also been times on the show when her behavior is clearly influenced by intoxication when she becomes incoherent, easily agitated and seems to lock herself in a lot of bathrooms at various events. Her weirdest moment was last season when she rode with Lisa Rinna to a party at Eileen Davidson’s house. She began throwing a slew of insults at Lisa seemingly out of nowhere under a train of thought that was extremely hard to follow. And how could we forget the time she stopped in the middle of a hike to pray at a trash can and played with the squirrels? Her odd behavior is endless!

7. Carlton Gebbia

Carlton Gebbia definitely turned some heads and raised some eyebrows during her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when she talked a lot about her wiccan spirituality and beliefs. She contended that she only practiced her magical ways for good, but there were moments on the show that cast members, like Kyle Richards were convinced she stirred some evil spells. Carlton loved to intimidate the other cast members with the fact that she could put a curse on them. She also talked a lot about how she liked to throw ‘sexy’ parties, even made out with Brandi Glanville on camera and showed off her sex chamber in her Gothic mansion….that’s definitely a first for Real Housewives. Carlton Gebbia makes Erica Jayne look conservative! In the end, the biggest thing viewers couldn’t relate to (which ultimately got her fired from the show) was the fact that she practiced magic which involved some pretty odd beliefs and rituals using crystals, candles and herbs. She was definitely spookiest housewives on the show!

6. Mama Elsa Patton

Mama Elsa from The Real Housewives of Miami was definitely a fan favorite. Her peculiar appearance as a result of some botched plastic surgery throws us off a bit, but overall her quirky personality is more lovable than anything else. She speaks her mind (especially when she’s had a glass or two of wine) and it’s hilarious because it’s always off base, but she means no harm. She loved to talk about the days when she lived in Cuba and one time even claimed she was a witch! Most of the women on the show would go to her for advice because despite all of her oddities she was usually right because she would never hold back. We love Elsa!

5. Lydia McLaughlin’s mom, Judy

How could we forget Lydia’s mother, Judy from The Real Housewives of Orange County? She was the pot smoking, fairy dusting grandmother who typically talked about magical things like the land of bunnies and becoming a tree. It was hard to imagine the relation between her and her Christian conservative daughter, Lydia McLaughlin. At one point on the show, Lydia talked about how her mother went to a fairy farm, which she called a magical place in the woods and bought some fairy dust. Judy loved to sprinkle this fairy dust around and tended to break out in to song randomly. Judy was definitely weird, but it was all in good fun and in the end her quirky ways were completely harmless!

4. Kelly Bensimon

Kelly Bensimon will probably never be able to shake her reputation from her time on The Real Housewives of New York City. She last appeared as a regular cast member on season 4 when she seemed to have a meltdown while on vacation to the Virgin Islands with the other women on the show. She went head-to-head with Bethenny Frankel all season, but it all came crashing down during the episode, “Scary Island,” which was probably named after her behavior. Kelly was always quirky on the show, she constantly contradicted herself and made odd statements all the time, but she got full blown weird on the girls getaway when she began making incoherent statements and acting erratically, crying one minute and laughing the next. It got so bad the ladies began to talk about her right in front of her and Bethenny was no longer mad at her, but rather worried about her mental state. Yikes!

3. Brooks Ayers

Brooks Ayers appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County as Vicki Gunvalson’s on and off again boyfriend. He seemed normal in the beginning; however, many of the women had their doubts about his intentions with Vicki. His behavior was odd, and during a reunion special Vicki’s daughter, Briana Culberson showed viewers a clip of Brooks threatening her and telling Briana’s husband to beat her. But things got really weird last season when Brooks became tangled in a serious web of lies surrounding his health and whether or not he was actually suffering from cancer. His story never added up and when he was prompted by the other women about the details, he seemed to just dig himself into a deeper hole. He ended up showing medical records on camera which he later admitted were fake. Vicki and Brooks are no longer together, but Brooks remains adamant that he is still suffering from cancer.

2. Allison Dubois

Allison Dubois made her debut on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when she showed up to what is now referred to as “the dinner party from hell” during season 1 at Camille Grammer’s house. Viewers learned that she was the real life inspiration for CBS’ show Medium, but on the housewives she just seemed like a e-cigarette smoking, martini sipping drunk who took pleasure in making ugly predictions about other people’s future. She ended off the party giving the women the double finger and a vicious rant about Kyle Richards: “I don’t give a f-ck what she thinks about me. She can f-ck off. I can tell you when she’s going to die and what’s going to happen to her family. I love that about me.” Creepy much? Her reputation as a credible medium was forever tarnished after this episode went to air.

1. George Teichner

There’s no doubt that Aviva Drescher’s father was the weirdest person to grace the screens of the entire Real Housewives franchise. Aviva openly admitted that he was a “sex addict” which was fairly evident during his time on the show as he was constantly making the other women uncomfortable with his inappropriate behavior and comments. The 76-year-old became engaged to a 25-year-old woman, Dana Cody (the two are now married) and held their engagement party on the show at a sex museum. However, the weirdest part about his behavior was that he was constantly hitting on Sonja Morgan and Carole Radziwill, while also making extremely demeaning and explicit comments about Ramona Singer. It was all very bizarre especially in the presence of his daughter, Aviva. We don’t even want to relive those uncomfortable moments!
