32. Missed The Mark: Natasha Lyonne
We admittedly weren’t the biggest fans of the look Natasha Lyonne wore to this year’s Emmy Awards. The look felt quite stifling and stiff with the pussy-bow neckline and bubble sleeves. We do, however, love this golden color to complement Lyonne’s auburn locks.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus dazzled at this year’s Emmy awards where she stepped out wearing head-to-toe sequins. The look fit her like a glove and was perfectly complemented by her dramatic chandelier-style gold earrings.

Indya Moore missed the mark with her look for this year’s Emmys that consisted of a white corset-style dress with pleating on the skirt. The ultra-high slits on the legs felt like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen!

Patricia Clarkson looked gorgeous at the 2019 Emmys where she stepped out wearing this deep ruby dress. We love this rich jewel-tone against her fair complexion. The flattering off-the-shoulder neckline looked fabulous yet still modest on her because of the fluttering long sleeves.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)28. Missed The Mark: Zoe Kazan
Zoe Kazan had an unfortunate fashion miss at the 219 Emmys when she stepped out wearing this red, pink and black look. The combination of the puff sleeves and bow detail on the waist felt a little too much, especially with the strong color scheme that was already happening.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT27. Nailed It: Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore looked stunning when she stepped out at the 2019 Emmys channeling old Hollywood glamour. Her red and pink look featured a dramatic off-the-shoulder neckline which paired perfectly to show off her voluminous structured curls.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)26. Missed The Mark: Emilia Clarke
We can definitely appreciate the simplistic elegance of this navy look that Emilia Clarke wore to the 2019 Emmys. As much as we love the color and shape of this dress, we weren’t the biggest fans of the gaping neckline that bared a lot of skin.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT25. Nailed It: Michelle Williams
Michelle Williams dazzled at the 2019 Emmys when she graced the red carpet wearing this emerald printed dress. We love all the detail and glitz involved in this intricate look!
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)24. Missed The Mark: Mj Rodriguez
Mj Rodriguez stepped out at the 2019 Emmys wearing a bright fuchsia dress that featured a full skirt and a low-cut neckline. This color looks gorgeous on Rodriguez; however, the look missed the mark due to the black bows on the bodice that felt out of place and distracted from the look as a whole.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT ***23. Nailed It: Brittany Snow
Brittany Snow channeled her inner Disney princess with this striking powder blue gown at the 2019 Emmys! We love the combination of the sheer tulle, soft pleating, and glitzy beading.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)22. Missed The Mark: Dascha Polanco
Dascha Polanco made heads turn at the 2019 Emmys where she stepped out wearing a white and pink dramatic gown. While this look certainly fits her like a glove, we can’t overlook the oversized sleeves that didn’t seem to flow with the rest of the dress.
(Photo by Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP)21. Nailed It: Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts dazzled at the 2019 Emmys where she stepped out wearing this elegant black dress that perfectly showed off her impossibly tiny waist. We love the flattering belt and lace detailing on the bodice of this gown.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)20. Missed The Mark: Taraji P. Henson
Taraji P. Henson had an unfortunate fashion moment at this year’s Emmy Awards that we couldn’t get on board with. The combination of pink and red is quite trendy at the moment, but it needs to be done in a simple way to look chic. We think the dramatic cape and harsh color blocking is what detracted from this look as a whole.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)19. Nailed It: Isla Fisher
Isla Fisher looked stunning at the 2019 Emmys where she rocked a sweeping metallic floor-length gown. We love all the flattering pleating on this dress, which is perfectly paired with the off-the-shoulder neckline.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT18. Missed The Mark: Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler stepped out at this year’s Emmy awards wearing an interesting gold pantsuit that we have to admit we weren’t the biggest fans of. The piece pooled at her ankles which led us to believe it could have used another trip to the tailor before hitting the red carpet.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT17. Nailed It: Regina King
Regina King stole the show wearing this icy blue dress which featured a high-neckline and soft pleating throughout. We love the subtle glitter along the neckline of this look and the glamorous thigh-high slit.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT16. Missed The Mark: Kerry Washington
While we can definitely appreciate a strong trouser moment on the red carpet, we weren’t totally convinced by this sequin look Kerry Washington wore at the Emmys. We’ve seen a look like this many times before so this simply didn’t feel refreshing or innovative in any way.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT15. Nailed It: Maya Rudolph
Maya Rudolph stunned at the Emmys where she stepped out wearing this multi-color lace gown that fit her like a dream. Rudolph has had quite a few disappointing red carpet moments in the past, which is why it was quite exciting to see her absolutely nail her fashion for the 2019 Emmy Awards.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)14. Missed The Mark: Lena Headey
Lena Headey, unfortunately, missed the mark at this year’s Emmy Awards where she opted for a tiered floral gown. The combination of the heavy ruffles and bold floral print didn’t seem to work together, especially with the strange black bow trailing along the front.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT13. Nailed It: Sian Clifford
Fleabag star Sian Clifford stunned at the Emmys red carpet in this crisp white gown. Despite the glum facial expression, we think Clifford dazzled in this column-style dress. The sleeves were the true statement-makers with this look because of the subtle beading and unique accordion pleating.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT12. Missed The Mark: Laverne Cox
We love when stars bring the drama to the red carpet with their fashion; however, this look worn by Laverne Cox was a little too bold for the Emmys in our opinion. A look like this would have been amazing for a more experimental event like the Met Gala!
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)11. Nailed It: Betty Gilpin
Betty Gilpin stunned at the Emmys wearing this sparkling black dress. The bodice perfectly accentuated her tiny waist and the floaty tulle covered in glittering beading was truly stunning.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)10. Missed The Mark: Amy Adams
We were quite let down by Amy Adams’ look for this year’s Emmy awards. The strange embroidery and nude underlay weren’t the most flattering combination and the color scheme did nothing to highlight her complexion.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)9. Nailed It: Sandra Oh
Sandra Oh absolutely nailed her Emmys look this year where she stepped out wearing a sleek bubblegum pink dress. We love the simplicity of this look and how flattering the off-the-shoulder neckline looks.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)8. Missed The Mark: Kristen Bell
We, unfortunately, weren’t the biggest fans of this rainbow look worn by Kristen Bell at this year’s Emmys. The combination of the rainbow color palette mixed with a black base didn’t seem to quite flow together.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)7. Nailed It: Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian dazzled in this sleek black dress at the Emmys this year. We love how she accessorized with a chunky silver necklace, which really brought a glamour factor to the otherwise quite simplistic look.
(Photo by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images)6. Missed The Mark: Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner totally missed the mark with her look for this year’s Emmy Awards. The combination of the long sleeve latex top and the oversized floral print didn’t seem to work together. We did, however, love the shape of this dress which complemented her tall, slender figure.
(Photo by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images)5. Nailed It: Jameela Jamil
Jameela Jamil looked gorgeous in this mint green dress that featured an asymmetrical neckline at the 2019 Emmys. This color worked fabulously to highlight her skin tone and was quite refreshing among a sea of dark, jewel-toned dresses.
(Photo by Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP)4. Missed The Mark: Gwendoline Christie
Gwendoline Christie stepped out at this year’s Emmys wearing an interesting ensemble that definitely generated quite a few memes. The look was obviously a nod to Game of Thrones; however, we’re not sure that made it a valid choice for the Emmys.
EPA/ETIENNE LAURENT3. Nailed It: Sophie Turner
Sophie Turner absolutely nailed her red carpet look for this year’s Emmys where she stepped out wearing a chic satin dress that featured flattering pleats along the waist and a sweetheart neckline. We absolutely love this light blush color against Turner’s strawberry blonde locks and fair complexion.
(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)2. Missed The Mark: Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow had an unfortunate fashion miss at this year’s Emmys where she stepped out wearing a black and white monochrome number with dramatic sleeves. While the dress itself isn’t so bad with the lovely sheer neckline and black and white color palette, we can’t overlook these feathered sleeves that seemed quite excessive in all honesty.
(Photo by Rich Polk/Getty Images for IMDb)1. Nailed It: Zendaya
Of all the Emmys red carpet looks this year, our absolute favorite was Zendaya’s gorgeous emerald dress with a corset bodice. This color works flawlessly with her complexion and the entire shape and vibe of this look felt ultra-luxurious and chic.
