Actress Precious Way Is Leaving Days Of Our Lives

One of Salem’s newest vixens will be getting a fresh look!

Actress Precious Way, who portrays Chanel Dupree, will exit Days Of Our Lives within weeks, according to Soap Opera Digest. Although no reason was given for her exit, Deadline reports that Way will star alongside rapper MC Lyte in a new sitcom called Partners In Rhyme. 

The role has been recast with Raven Bowens, who has previously appeared in such TV series as All Rise and Insecure. She will make her daytime television debut on the NBC sudser July 6th.

This recast will come as a surprise to DOOL viewers, who were still getting to know Precious Way and her troublemaking alter ego, Chanel. Although the character was only introduced in March of this year, Ms Dupree wasted little time making a name for herself in Salem. From scamming Claire and Tripp into paying her booze bill to having a one-night stand with Xander that ended with them getting married, Chanel immersed herself in drama from the get-go. 

More recently, Chanel has revealed her sexual fluidity by making flirty moves on both her friend Allie and her cousin’s hubby, Eli. She’s also set to start a business venture, much like her mom Paulina, so the recast will occur just as this mother-daughter relationship gets interesting. 

How will this recast rank among others in the show’s history? It can go either way! But one thing’s for sure, there will be no shortage of ground for newcomer Raven Bowens to cover with this character over the summer months!
