Ashton Kutcher Confirms The Ranch Is Ending In 2020

It is time to say goodbye to The Ranch.
After a lot of success on Netflix, Ashton Kutcher, who not only stars in The Ranch as Colt Bennett but is also an executive producer of the show, announced on Tuesday, June 4 that the series will end with its fourth season in 2020.
“@theranchnetflix is coming to an end, but not just yet. We’re excited to bring you the final 20 episodes — 10 streaming later this year (2019) on @netflix, and then 10 more in 2020,” he captioned a cast photo featuring himself and costars Dax Shepard, Sam Elliott and Elisha Cuthbert. “Stay tuned!”
Despite the show’s popularity and success, things changed when Danny Masterson who starred as Kutcher’s on-screen brother Rooster Bennett was fired from the show after two and a half seasons following multiple accusations of sexual assault. “After discussing with the producers, we’ve decided to write Danny Masterson off of The Ranch. Yesterday was his last day of work, and we’ll make new episodes in 2018 without him,” the streaming service said in a statement in March 2018.
Following Masterson’s abrupt exit from the show, actor Dax Shepard was brought in as a replacement as the character Luke Matthews, but fans agreed the show just wasn’t the same after Masterson’s exit and had lost a lot of its humor and chemistry that made the script work so well.
Elisha Cuthbert also took to her social media to comment on the series ending, sharing the same photo that Kutcher did and writing, “One of the most enjoyable experiences of my professional career has come to a close. over the last 4 years we have completed filming all 80 live shows BUT ITS FAR FROM DONE FOR YOU!” She continued, “We’re excited to bring you the final 20 episodes — 10 streaming later this year (2019) on #Netflix, and then 10 more in 2020. I’m so grateful for all my time spent with these incredible actors and crew and I’m so thankful for all the awesome fans of the show! We hope y’all get a kick out of the last 20! #theranchnetflix.”
