Bachelor Nation Is Reacting To That Awkward Chase Rice Date Between Peter Weber And Victoria Fuller
Published on January 29, 2020.ABC
Before Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor even began it was already touted as one of the most dramatic seasons ever, and it hasn’t disappointed!
On the Monday, January 27 episode, fans watched as Peter Weber and contestant Victoria Fuller had a one-on-one date in Cleveland, Ohio where they attended a concert with country singer Chase Rice performing, but what Peter didn’t know was that Chase and Victoria F. used to date, or at least had a fling.
Chase Rice serenaded the pair as they danced and kissed in front of him while Victoria F. looked extremely embarrassed but ultimately went along with it because she didn’t want to “ruin the moment” for Peter, who thought they were having a great time. Although there have been plenty of awkward dates over the many seasons of The Bachelor, there is no denying that this was the most awkward of them all which led to a lot of reactions from Bachelor Naton alum.
Former Bachelor Nick Viall tweeted, “For what it’s worth Peter, Victoria F, and Chase all handled an amazingly awkward situation pretty well.”
“I don’t think anyone can criticize Victoria F for how she handled this date because no one in the history of the world has ever been forced in this exact situation like she was,” he continued. “Also thank you producers.”
Added Bachelorette alumnus Jason Tartick, “Peter handled this Victoria/Chase cluster so damn well! Class act.”
“Peter’s face reaction shots after realizing he’s actually in the matrix are heartbreaking and wildly exhilarating #TheBachelor,” Bachelor in Paradise’s Evan Bass tweeted after Victoria F. finally told Peter about her past.
Meanwhile former Bachelor Colton Underwood looked at it from Chase Rice’s point of few and joked about his own famous fence jump in his season, tweeting, “I’m sure if there was a fence for @ChaseRiceMusic to jump… he would have.”
It didn’t like for fans to find out exactly what the singer thought of the entire thing however as he spoke out on the Fitz in the Morning radio show where he revealed he “was really pissed off” with what producers did to him, Peter and Victoria.
“So I told my manager and my publicist, they were like, ‘don’t even worry about that,’” he said. “‘They’re not going to do that to you, that’s a weird coincidence, but they’re not gonna — there’s no way they would do that to you. They’ve never brought somebody else in like that, surprised the guest on the show.’”
Despite the reassurance, he had no idea that he would end up seeing Fuller.
“So the fact they did that to me, it’s over the top, it’s unnecessary, I didn’t expect it,” he continued. “But at the end of the day, it happened.”
“I don’t know if it’s the producers, or if they just got lucky. I know what I think, but I’ll let everybody else figure out what they think,” he said, admitting that he “was really pissed off” because he agreed to perform on the show for the sake of his music, not for the show’s drama.
“I was just going on there to try to promote ‘Lonely If You Are’ and ‘Eyes on You,’” he said, “and I wanted absolutely nothing — if there’s anything I ever wanted, it’s to have nothing to do with the drama of that show.”
