Carrie Underwood hasn’t had the easiest past couple of months, and things didn’t get any better when she was pulled over for the first time on Monday, January 29.

The singer took to her Twitter after the incident to share, “Well, it happened today. After 18 years, I can no longer say I’ve never been pulled over for speeding. I feel so ashamed! I may or may not have cried in my car after the cop let me go. #RuleFollower #GrannyDriver #ImSorry.”

Prior to breaking her squeaky clean 18-year record, the 34-year-old had other difficulties including breaking her wrist and severely injuring her face after falling outside of her Nashville home in November. The accident caused Underwood to cancel some performances and she went rather quiet on social media before revealing she needed 40 stitches in her face and told fans she “may never look the same.”

Although not much was hear from the star as she healed, she reassured fans that she was trying to return to work as soon as possible. “I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different,” she wrote. “I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.”

She concluded with,“I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way. And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.”
