Days Of Our Lives Share Major Teaser For Upcoming Seasons
Published on May 14, 2021.In case you missed the news: NBC has renewed Days Of Our Lives to air new episodes well into 2023. Hot on the heels of this announcement, Executive Producer Ken Corday has shared a monumental teaser to Soaps.com for Seasons 57 and 58.
Fans of the sudser had been on the edge of their seats during an eerily quiet negotiation process. There was oodles of speculation, with only one insider leak proving to be substantial.
In a revealing portion of his teaser, he acknowledged that he was basically “on my knees, begging” for DOOL to receive, specifically, a two-year extension.
“Frankly, it’s difficult to do our job if we have to be constantly looking over our shoulder,” Corday noted. “So to know we have two years locked down, which is basically 520 episodes? That gives us the freedom to do what we do best!”

Now that negotiations are behind him, Ken Corday is hoping that fans will slide back into their seats as he serves up a series of teasers to feast on. For starters, he confirms what early reports were saying: that Victoria Konefal (who plays Ciara) will return to Salem this summer.
“Things will work out. I’m an eternal optimist,” he said. “Even if Victoria books other jobs, she comes and goes, it’ll work out.”
Corday’s contract talk was laced with a teaser that Cin fans will be relieved to hear.
“It might be time for Ben and Ciara to have a little happiness,” he mused. “Not to say that that’s the end of their story, because when people are just looking at one another lovingly over a cup of coffee, there’s not much drama there.”
Good thing they just signed Robert Scott Wilson to a fresh contract. Another actor celebrating fresh contract ink is Jackée Harry (who plays Paulina). Corday hinted that big plans are in motion for the Price family.
Any more details to share? Corday doesn’t want to say too much, although he does drop a juicy timeline for impatient viewers.
“We’re building the next nuclear bomb as we speak,” Corday said. “Watch out, come the end of the Olympics, the beginning of the fall season: We’re about to knock viewers on their butts. Trust me, this will be great!”
In a nod to longtime fans, Corday also reflected on an old slogan NBC used decades ago when promoting DOOL.
“Remember the old ‘It’s Getting Good Again’ ads, as if it wasn’t good to begin with? Well, trust me, when you see what [headwriter] Ron Carlivati has in store? Like I said, we are going to blow the audience away.”
So there you have it. As if DOOL viewers needed another reason to put the spectre of cancellation in the rearview, Corday has just given fans a whole lot to look forward to!
