Florida Georgina Line’s Tyler Hubbard Steps Away From Social MediaPublished on July 20, 2016.
Tyler Hubbard of the country band Florida Georgia Line has announced that he’s calling it quits on social media.
On Wednesday, July 20, the country musician wrote an emotional post on Instagram where he told fans he’d be taking an indefinite break from his personal online accounts. “I’ve done a lot of thinking and praying about this for the last few days and I think it’s time for me to take a break from social media indefinitely,” the singer wrote. “I spend way to much of my valuable time worrying about my next post or how many comments or likes I got. Honestly it’s a little ridiculous and I’m ready to get back to focusing all my attention on the things that really matter.”
He continued, “I’m taking some time to refocus on my relationships, the Lord, my marriage, my family, and my music. Maybe I’ll even learn a new instrument instead of learning how to snap chat.” He added, “I want to make sure that I’m living my life to the fullest and not worrying about making a highlight reel for the world to talk about or comparing my life to other peoples highlight reels. That’s not what life is about.”
Hubbard signed off with the hashtag “#backtothebasics”. Alongside the post, the singer included an image that read, “Done with the reel life and getting back to the real life.”
Fans who want to stay updated about Florida Georgia Line can still follow Hubbard’s bandmate Brian Kelley. Currently, the band is getting ready to launch their forthcoming album, Dig Your Roots. Kelley shared a teaser of FGL’s recent collaboration with Tim McGraw for the song, “May We All” on his Instagram last week. Check it out below!
