Despite saying that she was leaving Twitter, Roseanne Barr returned late Tuesday night after news of her show’s cancellation broke to blame the sleeping pill Ambien for her controversial comment about Barack Obama’s former aide.

“It was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting,” she tweeted. “It was Memorial Day too. I went too far and do not want it defended. It was egregious [and] indefensible.” She added, “I think Joe Rogan is right about Ambien. Not giving excuses for what I did (tweeted) but I’ve done weird stuff while on Ambien: cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc.”

Barr also apologized to all of the writers and actors on the Roseanne revival who lost their jobs because of her tweet and then told her Twitter followers that she would be on Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, this Friday.

“Don’t feel sorry for me, guys!!-I just want to apologize to the hundreds of people, and wonderful writers (all liberal) and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet,” she wrote. “I will be on Joe Rogan’s podcast friday.”

The television star also apologized to Obama’s aide, Valerie Jarrett, in a now-deleted tweet. “@ValerieJarrett I want to apologize to you. I am very sorry to have hurt you. I hope you can accept this sincere apology!”

The Roseanne revival had already been renewed for a second season this past March when it was suddenly canceled on Tuesday after Barr tweeted that if the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes had a baby Jarrett would be the offspring. ABC called her comments “abhorrent” and “repugnant.”

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said on Tuesday.
