Teen Mom 3’s Mackenzie McKee To Replace Farrah Abraham On Teen Mom OG
Published on February 28, 2018.After years of drama and controversy, and one exit already, Farrah Abraham is officially gone from MTV’s hit series Teen Mom OG, and according to reports her replacement is already filming!
Several sources have reported that Mackenzie McKee, who fans will remember from the short-lived series Teen Mom 3, will be replacing Abraham as the fourth mom on Teen Mom OG. The news comes not long after rumors swirled that MTV had already narrowed the replacement down to either McKee, who first appeared on 16 and Pregnant in 2012, or Ryan Edwards’ wife Mackenzie Standifer because they had already been getting so much screen time, and Standifer was a teen mother to her son Hudson.
While MTV has yet to release a statement confirming that McKee will star on Teen Mom OG, the 24-year-old has been retweeting stories about the news and wrote on Twitter, “2017 has been the craziest year of my life…wow.”
McKee’s episode of 16 and Pregnant back in 2012, followed the teenager as she told her story about being a cheerleader, growing up in Oklahoma, having diabetes and how hard it was on her family to learn she was pregnant at 16. In the episode, McKee and her boyfriend Josh McKee welcomed a son Gannon. Josh and Mackenzie went on to marry in August 2013 and welcomed their second child, a daughter named Jaxie in February 2014, and welcomed their third child, a second son named Broncs in August 2016.
Most recently McKee made headlines when she revealed that her mother, Angie Douthit, who played a very big role in both her 16 and Pregnant episode and season of Teen Mom 3, was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.
While Teen Mom 3 did not see the success that Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 has, McKee is the second TM3 star to make a comeback after Teen Mom 3′s Briana Dejesus was added as a fifth mom on Teen Mom 2 last season.
As for Abraham, she has filed a $5 million lawsuit over her firing, and when asked how she felt about being replaced and moving on from the show, she responded in typical Farrah fashion. “I wish them all the best with the show. I’m out on a high note. This is the longest season in history and I’m their biggest star,” Abraham, 26, told Us Weekly on Tuesday, February 27. “I can do my own show, but I don’t want to focus on reality TV. I’m focusing on scripted opportunities but will always enjoy a good reality TV project.” She added, “I don’t know what the show is doing. You could take all the girls on all the series, but none can bring or do as much as I do for the series.”
