9. Fan Favorites!
The title of this week’s theme is “Fan Favorite Moments” and Y&R audiences need to brace themselves for a compilation of (seemingly random) episodes that are packaged together as shows that most Y&R audiences consider the best-of-the-best when it comes to reruns. It’s all about the fans this week, and what they’ve asked for in terms of classic episodes!
8. Through The Years
Go back to where it all began! This week’s theme starts with a bang by rewinding to the year 1973, and re-airing the very first two episodes that started off the soap opera phenomena! As the Y&R aired for 30 minutes then, Monday’s show will spotlight daytime drama history by re-broadcasting the first two shows in the land of Genoa City ever! Episodes that follow include shows from the ‘80s, ‘90s, 2008, and end off with an episode from 2015 for Friday.
7. Storylines Covered
From the first two original shows that started the magic in Genoa City to Kay Chancellor’s epic (and controversial) facelift storyline, Dru and Neil’s love affair, a very special guest star on the soap, and of course, Hilary and Devon’s first wedding, the Y&R picked some of the most popular fan-favorite reruns to re-air in the coming days. This is a week most avid Y&R fans won’t want to miss.
6. Characters From The Past
Anyone out there who misses the Foster and Brooks families from back in the 1970s? What about Brad Elliott? Get your fill around all your favorite Y&R characters from the past! Not to mention a nice glimpse of Dru and Neil at a high point in their relationship, and some romantic moments between Devon and Hilary.
5. Brad Elliot Comes to Genoa City
Rewind to March 26th and 27th of 1973, when Brad Elliot first steps foot into Genoa City, and unleashes some drama in the little town, while fans are also introduced to the Foster and Brooks families. The first 30 minutes of the show will highlight the first episode while the second half-hour will spotlight show number two for the Y&R.
4. Katherine Gets a Facelift
Re-live an iconic Y&R moment on Tuesday, as Katherine unveils the results of her facelift surgery in a show that first aired on March 28, 1984. Meanwhile across town, Cricket decides to jump into the land of modeling at Jabot. Spoiler alert: she decides to become a lawyer in the long run!
3. Dru and Neil Celebrate
The early 1990s were a great time in Genoa City! Newly married, Dru and Neil celebrate with family and loved ones in this classic episode from March 12, 1993! Other storylines spotlighted in the episode include a dark Michael Baldwin plotting some revenge. Spoiler alert: he gets over his rotten ways to become a pretty decent guy.
2. Katy Perry Steals the Spotlight
Remember that time that Katy Perry was on the Y&R? On the brink of exploding into the music scene, the year Perry released “I Kissed A Girl,” she also appeared on the Y&R! Thursday’s episode is a show that aired originally on June 2, 2008, and shows Katy stealing the spotlight at Restless Style during a photoshoot.
1. Hilary and Devon Get Married
Rewind to August 14, 2015, when Hilary and Devon decide to say, “I do” (for the very first time). The show highlights the Hevon wedding, and fans also get to see Neil once again this week, as he tries to make amends with his son and ex-wife (soon-to-be daughter-in-law at the time).
