Days Of Our Lives 2022 Forecast: Plotline Predictions

It’s a new year in the land of Salem, and there’s nothing Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fans love more than speculating on what’s to come. Will the Devil get his hands on baby “Cin”? Will Sarah and Xander reunite, leaving Gwen out in the cold? Will there be any unexpected character returns? Below is the DOOL forecast for 2022.

12. The Devil Will Be Banished

Most fans aren’t overly thrilled that Days has continued this “possession” storyline via Johnny DiMera. The Devil will be officially banished from Salem, with hopes that he won’t come back anytime soon. But with all that’s happened (and is set to happen) during his possession of Johnny, what aftermath will the Devil leave in his wake?

11. What Does The Devil Want From Baby Cin?

Johnny will likely get closer to Ben and Ciara over the coming weeks. No one knows what Satan initially wanted to do with baby “Cin”, but it’ll become clearer as this storyline unfolds. Perhaps he was hoping to be around the baby while still in the womb to influence his evil on the child before it was delivered. There’s also a chance he simply wants to kidnap it and raise the little one on his own. The good news is, he won’t get to follow through on either of those plans.

10. Will Baby Cin Be Okay?

After the Devil is gone for good (or for now), Ciara and Ben will wonder if their little one will be okay, once he/she comes out. First-time parents are already nervous, so Ciara and Ben’s fears will be that much more heightened. They won’t only have to worry about their baby’s feeding and sleep schedule, plus colic and crying issues; they’ll also look for any indication that their child is evil! Ben will be especially concerned, while Ciara will try to ease his fears. This storyline will possibly drag into 2023.

9. Johnny, Chanel, Tripp and Allie

Chanel and Allie will likely keep their affair a secret from Tripp. They may even end up having more than a one-night stand before 2022 is over. With that said, once Johnny is de-possessed, Chanel will be glad she kept her fling with her BFF a secret. She’ll run back to DiMera with her arms wide open and the couple will try to rebuild their marriage. If their divorce ends up going through before the Devil is gone, Johnny may propose getting remarried (properly) in Salem. The only thing is that Allie and Chanel will feel guilty about the lie they are telling both Johnny and Tripp.

8. Johnny Keeps Some Bad Habits

Devil Johnny is like a chip off his nonno’s block. What if the young DiMera ends up liking corporate life? Could he turn into a little Stefano DiMera right before everyone’s eyes? He may not be as completely vile as his grandad once was — there will never be another one like Stefano. However, Johnny may keep some DiMera bad habits (like making schemes and power plays at DiMera Enterprises) after the Devil leaves him. Kind of like his dad EJ, Johnny will be slightly bad — but with a bit of a conscience.

7. Eric’s Return Places A Kink In Rafe and Nicole’s Romance

Eric will likely return to help with the de-possession of Johnny DiMera. He may even decide to stick around Salem for a while. By the time he does come back, Nicole and Rafe could be together. Ava will probably cross a line and do something illegal like kidnap or hurt Nicole. It’ll land her in prison and leave Walker and Rafe realizing they are meant to be together. But could Eric’s return place a kink in Walker and Hernandez’s romance?

6. Sparks Fly Between EJ And Belle

Shawn and Belle make a fantastic super couple; however, are any other fans raising an eyebrow about all the screen-time EJ and Belle have together? Belle’s been known to have a wandering eye while still with Shawn, and it would be terrible if she had yet another affair while married. With that said, it would cause a lot of drama, which makes for great television. Plus, it could be a fantastic storyline for Sami to return to.

5. Team Jabi… Or Team Stabi?

Jake and Gabi make an incredible team. They have chemistry together, create passionate scenes, and add a little humor to their storylines. At this point, it seems like they are unstoppable! Could wedding bells be in their future come 2022? Sounds like that’s the path they are headed on; however, what if Stefan re-enters the picture? What if he’s really alive and returns just as the two are about to say their “I do’s”?

4. Vivian Returns

She’s in jail right now, but that’s a mere technicality in the land of Salem. If Stefan comes back to Salem, Vivian would be in tow. She’d want to re-connect with her son and get to know the twin she’s never had a chance to bond with. Much like Gabi, Viv would feel “caught” in the middle of things. Jake and Stefan would naturally have animosity towards each other, and sibling rivalry would arise on all fronts — from the boardroom to their mom, the DiMera family, and of course, Gabi.

3. Gwen’s Expecting

With Sarah re-entering the picture soon, Gwen could try to have a baby with Xander. She’s attempted to hide Horton’s disappearance but that failed miserably. Could Rizczech pretend to be carrying Xandy’s baby? She pretended Abigail was the reason she lost a baby, after all. Plus, she may get the assist from her new ally, Ava.

2. Cady McClain Returns As Jennifer Horton

In an Instagram post that has since been deleted, actress Cady McClain announced to fans this past January that she was “back” on set. She added that it was “fun” to be working again on a “terrific” show. She offered no more information; however, it’s hard not to speculate that she could be headed back to Salem. After all, she won a Daytime Emmy the last time she was recast in the Jennifer Horton role. Meanwhile, actress Melissa Reeves (the O.G. Jenn) returned to Salem for Christmas, but may not be interested in a full-time gig now that she can enjoy more time with her children and grand-babies. With that said, maybe a specific storyline will bring Cady’s Jennifer back to DOOL in 2022?

1. Brady And Chloe Get Caught Off Guard

Fans know that Philip is still alive, even though most residents in Salem do not. Chloe will drag her heels when it comes to a romantic reunion with Brady but could “give in” around the spring. Kristen DiMera will also slip through Steve and Kayla’s fingers for most of the year. What if Chloe and Brady romantically reunite, only for Philip and Kristen to meet up while they are away from Salem? Could the two concoct a plan to finally get even with both Lane and Black?
