33. Hit: Lady Gaga – 2019

Unsurprisingly, Lady Gaga looked absolutely angelic at the 2019 SAG Awards where she opted for a voluminous white gown designed by Dior Haute Couture. The shredded tulle hemlines of the gown were feminine but also edgy, which perfectly encapsulates Gaga’s personal style. She accessorized with a chunky gold choker necklace and an oxblood lip which made for a truly glamorous red carpet moment.

32. Miss: Alison Brie – 2019

Of all the looks from the 2019 SAG Awards, we have to admit we were the most disappointed with this look worn by Alison Brie. While the dramatic bow detail along the back of the dress looked pretty from behind, from the front it resembled a strange set of wings. We love the sleek shape of this little black dress, but the detailing on the back was totally distracting.

31. Hit: Reese Witherspoon – 2018

Reese Witherspoon looked absolutely dazzling on the 2018 SAG Awards red carpet where she donned a sharp, emerald number. The cut of this gown was the perfect choice for her petite frame, and the flattering angled stripes trailing down the dress made her look even sleeker. The ruffled off the shoulder neckline perfectly balanced the sophisticated cut by adding a touch of romance and softness.

30. Miss: Kate Hudson – 2018

Kate Hudson undeniably led the worst-dressed list for the 2018 SAG awards! The overly feminine gown featured heart-shaped polka dots, a strange turtle-neckline covered in lace and tacky ruffles trailing throughout. The look was a clear fashion miss on the typically elegant fashionista, which is why we were all the more disappointed!

29. Hit: Kristen Bell – 2018

Kristen Bell stole the show at the 2018 SAG Awards where she stepped out in this fuchsia pink embroidered number. The princess gown was swoon-worthy but also quite unique since it paired together a color palette we wouldn’t initially think of: red, purple and pink! Bell proved that sometimes taking risks with the unconventional can seriously pay off, and this romantic number definitely left an impression.

28. Miss: Nicole Kidman — 2016

Nicole Kidman undeniably turned heads at the 2016 SAG Awards, but we’re not sure it was for the right reasons! Her look was definitely vibrant, but it simply seemed to be a little too chaotic. The dress featured a combo of heavy ruffles, contrasting stripes, and glitter throughout. Rather than having three different forms of embellishment, we wish Kidman would have opted for one or two to minimize the dramatic look a little.

27. Hit: Alicia Vikander — 2016

Alicia Vikander is a fashion superstar and constantly steps out in garments that are totally unique but still stay true to her signature sense of style. This particular SAG awards look was one of our absolute Vikander favorites! The actress stunned in a patchwork Louis Vuitton gown that was entirely covered in sequins and featured a high-neckline, and long sleeve cut. The look played up neutrals with shades of black, navy, gold and white, yet was still totally unique and like nothing we’ve seen before!

26. Miss: Kristen Wiig — 2016

Instead of wearing a classic gown as many stars do, Kristen Wiig opted for a crisp jumpsuit at the 2016 SAG awards! Although we totally appreciate this fashion risk, we’re not sure this look was completely satisfying. The one-shoulder top featured a strange geometric, floral embellishment that resembled a honeycomb a little too closely. We love seeing women who break the fashion mold at these award shows, but the odd embellishment of this look simply can’t be overlooked.

25. Hit: Sofia Vergara — 2016

Sofia Vergara looked like an absolute bombshell at the 2016 SAG awards red carpet! The strapless, sweetheart gown had no embellishment, but it was the bold punch of bright magenta that truly made her stand out. The color looked absolutely fabulous with Vergara’s olive complexion and the slim fit of the dress hugged her curves in all the right places.

24. Miss: Julianne Moore — 2016

This strange shade of pale green would typically not work on most skin tones, but Julianne Moore’s dark red locks seemed to contrast well with the unique shade! Despite this, the texture and cut of this dress still landed this fashion moment as a miss in our books. The straight-cut neckline seemed awkward, especially in combination with the cutouts along the bodice.

23. Hit: Lea Michele — 2015

Lea Michelle definitely turned heads with the glitzy dress she wore to the 2015 SAG awards! The gown was clean and crisp yet still totally glamorous with the slight shimmer and flattering ruching throughout. Michele added a metallic gold belt to cinch in her waist and donned a diamond cuff on her wrist for a bit more glamour. She kept her hair in messy, undone beach waves around her shoulders and wore her makeup rosy and glowing.

22. Miss: Keira Knightley — 2015

Pregnant Keira Knightley stepped out in 2015 wearing an overly foofy lace gown at the SAG Awards red carpet! We totally understand that dressing a baby bump comes with its challenges, but this ruffled look completely drowned Knightley. The royal purple lace seemed an odd combo and was neither dainty nor flattering. Luckily, the star smiled ear to ear and her pregnancy glow was highly apparent, which definitely balanced out the awkwardness of her tiered gown.

21. Hit: Camila Alves — 2015

The lush royal purple gown that Camila Alves wore to the 2015 SAG awards was undeniably one of her most glamorous red carpet dress moments! The trumpet style dress featured gorgeous draped fabric in all the right places and a train that cascaded off the dress and trailed elegantly behind her. She skipped on the jewelry with this dramatic dress and allowed her glowing complexion to shine by simply tucking her sunkissed locks behind her ear on one side.

20. Miss: Meryl Streep — 2014

Based on her track record, Meryl Streep could seemingly do no wrong when it comes to the red carpet! Streep is typically the queen of the little black dress, but this particular black gown definitely left us feeling quite underwhelmed. The Stella McCartney number cinched at the waist and featured an off the shoulder neckline, but the gown just didn’t seem to flatter her in the right places! Dare we say this look seemed somewhat frumpy on the ever-elegant Meryl Streep? Thankfully her dark-rimmed glasses and soft makeup definitely balanced out the unfortunate choice of attire.

19. Hit: Lupita Nyong’o — 2014

At the 2014 SAG awards, Lupita Nyong’o rocked a Gucci gown that was a bold shade of teal and showed off her slender figure perfectly. The true standout feature of this dress is the intricate couture detailing along the collar. The look felt quite avant-garde inspired, and especially with the adornment of dainty flower applique along the neckline. To finish off the look, Nyong’o added a pop of teal on her lids and a soft pink shade on her lips.

18. Miss: Sarah Paulson — 2014

We can definitely appreciate Sarah Paulson for taking a style risk or two, but unfortunately, this look from the 2014 SAG awards wasn’t one of her best! The 2014 Rochas dress featured a ruffled neckline in combination with a tiered skirt that poofed at the hip for extra volume. The biggest downfall of this look was the length of the skirt, which cut her off at the ankles and made her appear shorter! Proportions play a huge factor in a winning red carpet look, and it’s clear the proportions were not the most flattering with this particular look.

17. Hit: Naomi Watts — 2013

Naomi Watts absolutely stunned when she appeared on the 2013 SAG red carpet! The metallic Marchesa design she rocked was covered entirely with silver embroidery and was both elegant and romantic. Watts added an old Hollywood vibe to the look by pulling her vintage-style curls over one shoulder and rocking a bright crimson pout. She finished the look with a metallic clutch and a pair of dazzling diamond cluster earrings.

16. Miss: January Jones — 2013

January Jones missed the mark with her look for the 2013 SAG awards. While the sleek shape of this dress is quite flattering, we’re not sure we love this organza detail on the neck which detracted from the look. We also weren’t the biggest fans of her hair, which didn’t age well and feels a little outdated years later.

15. Hit: Jennifer Garner — 2013

Jennifer Garner most definitely turned heads on the 2013 SAG red carpet when she wore this dazzling Oscar De La Renta number. The golden ensemble featured a lace texture throughout that was covered with intricate beading and sequins. The actress literally glowed head to toe the entire night and even added a gold metallic clutch for extra sparkle!

14. Miss: Angelina Jolie – 2012

Angelina Jolie opted for a black halter-style dress for the annual SAG awards in 2012. Angelina is so gorgeous, but we do wish she opted for something a little more glam for the red carpet. The combination of this shiny texture in black also came across a little cheap, which was quite disappointing from such a natural fashionista.

13. Hit: Viola Davis — 2012

Viola Davis has a simple yet glamorous vibe about her style, and this particular SAG red carpet dress from 2012 definitely proves that! The Grecian-inspired gown was designed by Marchesa and featured a wrap style top that was embellished with golden beading. The crisp white gown was relatively simple aside from the minimal bodice embellishment, yet still looked totally fabulous and swoon-worthy.

12. Miss: Jane Lynch — 2011

Jane Lynch looked lovely in lilac at the 2011 SAG awards, but the one thing we couldn’t overlook was just how much her dress resembled something an 18-year old girl would wear to prom! As much as we appreciate the girliness and glam of this soft purple number, it’s just too difficult to look past the slightly juvenile, foofy feel of this princess-inspired look.

11. Hit: Hilary Swank – 2011

Hilary Swank dazzled at the 2011 SAG awards where she opted for a nude one-shouldered dress that featured flattering pleats along the waist. The shape of this dress is so stunning and the gold embellishment detailing really brought the glam red carpet factor.

10. Miss: Angie Harmon — 2011

There is undeniably a tasteful and classy way to wear feathers, we’re just not totally convinced that Angie Harmon mastered it with this Monique Lhuillier strapless gown! This soft pink look was definitely a lovely color on the tanned star, but the lingerie-inspired corset bodice was quite awkward looking in combination with the feathers. We would have much preferred to see subtle feather detailing along the skirt or bust rather than a full-blown feathered gown from head to toe.

9. Hit: Mila Kunis — 2011

One of Mila Kunis’ most memorable fashion moments was when she stepped out on the 2011 SAG awards red carpet wearing this scarlet red Alexander McQueen number! The rich shade of red complemented the brunette beauty fabulously and worked perfectly with Mila’s soft curls and Cartier jewelry. The abstract print in shades of red, black and pale pink definitely made a statement, but the combination was still subtle enough to look classy and elegant.

8. Miss: Toni Collette — 2010

Toni Collette’s 2010 SAG awards look most definitely didn’t leave too many positive reviews following the event! The gown drowned her figure in ruffles and we would have much preferred to see her in a figure-slimming shape than this baby-doll style cut. The sequins and blue beading clashed with the pale pink skirt and even more so with the full set of ruffles.

7. Hit: Kate Hudson – 2010

Kate Hudson wore the ultimate backless dress when she appeared on the 2010 SAG red carpet! The sultry number featured a long sleeve, slim fit cut and sparkle embellishment along the sides, but the elegant back of her gown is what totally stole the show. She pulled her hair into a feminine teased updo and wore a pop of peach on her cheeks.

6. Miss: Eva Longoria — 2009

Eva Longoria is a natural beauty, which made this 2009 red carpet moment all the more disappointing! The shade of orange came across as slightly tacky and definitely did not contrast well with the red carpet. The gown featured an awkward ruffle across the hip and cheap-looking beading along the neck. We would have much preferred to see Longoria in something a little more classy and simple!

5. Hit: Anne Hathaway – 2009

Anne Hathaway looked so angelic at the 2009 SAG awards when she stepped out wearing this crisp white dress that fit her like a glove. This look was so elegant and classic with its timeless shape and glitzy embellishment around the neckline and waist.

4. Miss: America Ferrera — 2009

America Ferrera’s 2009 SAG awards dress was unfortunately not one of her finest fashion moments! The brunette beauty stepped out wearing a tan chiffon gown that featured a black tulle sash and unflattering draping on the sides. The color of this gown seemed to wash out the star’s complexion and the shape simply drowned her rather than nicely framing her figure.

3. Hit: Eva Longoria – 2008

Eva Longoria stole the show at the 2008 SAG awards where she stepped out wearing this figure-hugging white dress which featured a subtle metallic print throughout. This look feels so elevated and glam, especially with the way she styled her hair.

2. Miss: Sandra Oh — 2008

In 2008, Sandra Oh made a rare red carpet appearance where she stepped out wearing a bold hot pink gown. A look like this seems more suited for prom than a formal Hollywood red carpet, and to be quite honest, we’re not sure that there is ever a time and place for an oversized pink bow. The proportion of the gown undeniably overwhelmed the petite actress and we would have much preferred to see her in something more sleek, sophisticated and age-appropriate.

1. Hit: Catherine Zeta-Jones — 2004

Catherine Zeta-Jones was totally glam in gold back when she appeared on the 2004 SAG red carpet. The sparkling Ellie Saab look showed off her unbelievably tiny waist, especially with the sweeping embellishment that cascaded across the front in a flattering curve-enhancing shape. The gown was timeless, elegant and despite appearing on the red carpet back in 2004, this style is something we could definitely expect to see at a current Hollywood event!
