Soap Opera 2021 Forecast: Plotline Predictions

It’s a brand-new year in the land of daytime drama, with so many exciting opportunities. There are new romances on the horizon; new struggles for super couples to overcome; and new adventures to embark on! What kind of drama is set to unfold? Below are some soap opera plotline predictions for 2021.

18. Days – Vivian’s Return

DOOL spoilers reveal that legendary soap actress Linda Dano is set to enter the land of Salem in 2021, recast in the role of Vivian Alamain. Why is Viv returning, and what could her agenda be? With nemesis Kate Roberts hooking up with her son Jake, Alamain could return to work on breaking up the couple. With Gabi Hernandez back on Days the week of January 18th, could Gabi and Viv form an alliance? Gabi might be a better suitor for her son, versus Kate. She’ll return under the guise of wanting to get to know Jake better but will cause chaos along the way.

17. B&B – Thomas Tries To Win Hope’s Heart

Hope knows Thomas is devoted to her, but things have never really clicked between the two of them. And the Forrester designer will be supportive, and not surprised, when he finds out The Waffler circled back to Steffy, just as he had predicted. But will 2021 finally bring about a chance for Thomas to win Hope’s heart or will another man catch her eye?

16. Y&R – Chabby Struggle To Expand Their Family

Chance and Abby have been talking about having a baby since 2020. Now that the two are a married couple, they are working very hard on making this a reality. Therefore, it’s not a stretch to predict that Chabby will have major struggles in this department. They may even receive news that Abby cannot conceive or carry a baby full-term. Perhaps the issue around conception has something to do with Chance. Either way, they’ll spend a good part of 2021 “trying” and failing. The couple could turn to adoption as the months go by, which might also lead to drama. Could Chabby illegally adopt a baby out of desperation?

15. GH – Willow’s Choice

The love triangle between Willow, Chase, and Michael is an intriguing one. It’s no surprise that Willow has two incredible bachelors vying for her attention. After all, she’s not only beautiful, but has a kind spirit, and a great personality. Willow may choose Chase initially, but something might come between a “happily ever after” for these two. If Willow ends up expecting, the baby would be Michael’s. She may decide that keeping Wiley and his sibling together, along with their father is what’s best for her “family.” There’s also a chance that she ends up in bed with both of them before she makes her choice. If that’s the case, and she learns she’s having a baby, there will be massive question marks around who the daddy is.

14. Days – A Plot Twist With Gwen and Chabby

The truth will come out shortly about Gwen and Chad’s one-nighter, and Days spoilers also reveal that Gwen’s past plus the reason behind her scheming will come to light. There’s a good chance that fans will learn why she’s been so manipulative; however, the plotting she’s done will still stay hidden. Chad will apologize for his indiscretions and take full blame for their one-night stand, but still defend Gwen as an “innocent” victim in their affair. Jack Deveraux may also learn that he is Gwen’s father, adding another ally to her circle. Abby and Jennifer will unite against the men, which will cause dissent within the Deveraux family. Jack will feel guilty about Gwen being tossed aside and overcompensate.

13. B&B – Queric’s Future

After nearly losing Eric, will Quinn finally learn her lesson and settle down to a quiet, uncomplicated life with her husband in 2021? Viewers know this is highly unlikely. She’ll happily settle back into the Forrester mansion and her routines, but it won’t be enough for her. Quinn is never truly satisfied unless she’s meddling in someone else’s life. Will she interfere in Wyatt’s relationship with Flo or cause even more problems for Brooke and Ridge?

12. Days – Gwen’s Expecting

Chabby will teeter on a breakup, while Gwen could reveal in February that she’s expecting. This will further escalate the Gwen drama, and solidify Chabby’s separation. Chad will gravitate to Gwen, while many in his circle warn him about her manipulations. He won’t see it, and Gwen will use Chad and Jack to cause more conflict in Salem. Could Gwen and Chad end up getting married if he divorces Abby? That’s a definite possibility!

11. Y&R – Billy Finds Himself In A Pickle

Fans know that Billy never cheated on Victoria with Amanda. The truth around this and Victor’s lie are bound to come out in 2021. Vicky’s not overly pleased about the Bi-Li relationship, and once this is all revealed, Billy will feel conflicted. He loves Lily, the two have a good thing going; however, he had a good thing going with the mother of his children, too, once upon a time. Victoria did mention that she never questioned Victor when he made his claim about Billy cheating, so she may be the one to reveal the truth.

10. GH – Jarly Becomes A Thing

GH fans know that Sonny is alive and okay, but it’ll take him a long while to make his way back to the land of Port Charles. In the meantime, Jason and Carly will continue to get closer. So much so that they are bound to cross a line. Sonny will eventually return, only to realize what has happened, and the sparks will fly! Storylines may even twist and turn to the point where Jason and Carly get married! These three BFFs are about to be torn apart, and there is nothing to protect Jarly when Corinthos finds himself scorned by the two he trusted the most.

9. Y&R – Chelsea Becomes A Victim For Abuse

Chelsea cannot speak or talk, which makes her an easy target for abuse. She could struggle with recovery as it is, but what if someone purposely holds her back? What if her doctor or nurse abuses their power? It would be impossible for Chelsea to even communicate what is being done to her.

8. B&B – Steffy Leaves For Paris

When Steffy’s baby turns out to be Liam’s, this will more than likely mean the end of Sinn. A mortified and embarrassed Steffy will head to Forrester International in Paris for a month or two, while the scandal dies down. Viewers know Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is pregnant in real life, so this may be how the actress heads off on maternity leave. However, Steffy will be back in late spring or early summer and she’ll give birth to Kelly’s brother or sister sometime in June. Will Finn have forgiven her by the time she returns?

7. Y&R – Adam Is The Abuser

Remember when Adam found out that Sharon had a relationship with someone while she faked her passing and was on the run from the police? He got so mad that he destroyed evidence that could exonerate her from Skye Lockhart’s murder! Sharon could have rotted in prison if it weren’t for Phyllis. What if Adam finds out that Chelsea tried to deceive him? Something could surface from the past. Could he be the one to hold her back from her recovery? Could he taunt her with images of him and Sharon together? Adam has crossed the line before, and he can do it again.

6. Days – New Romances In Salem

Love will be in the air in 2021! Ben will help Claire heal from being deceived by Ben; Allie and Tripp are sure to link up once they make amends; and Rafe and Ava could have something going on, too! There’s bound to be several new super couples on the horizon in Salem for the new year.

5. B&B – Liam’s Other Brother

Speculation teases that later in the year, Liam will find out he has another half-brother, none other than Finn. The doctor’s family history hasn’t been divulged yet, so are writers keeping it a mystery on purpose? They’ll likely be maternal brothers, as Bill’s secret son storyline has already been used twice, so hopefully writers won’t recycle that plot again. But how will both Liam and Finn react to the fact that they’re siblings? Stay tuned to B&B to find out!

4. Days – Ciara Returns

If Ben hooks up with Claire and the two find themselves involved as 2021 progresses, this might be the perfect opportunity for his wife Ciara to return. She won’t be overly heartbroken that he moved on, but she would be devastated to learn it was Claire of all people. The drama would explode between these three!

3. Y&R – Sally and Jack

It’s odd to think that Jack could or would hook up with Sally, after all; she’s young enough to be his daughter! There is an age difference there, and it does seem as if he is simply fond of the young lady, but if Sally were to manipulate her way into a romance, she’d gain a massive ally in Abbott. This will not only agitate Summer (and add fuel to their rivalry), but Jack could also influence Spectra’s career goals.

2. GH – Nelle Comes Back

There’s no way Nelle Benson has passed away. A Nelle return would flip Port Charles upside down. Not only would it affect Michael, Willow, and Wiley, but it would also affect Carly, as well as Jax’s relationship with Nina. Benson could unleash a ton of drama. Nina is also sure to find out she’s Nelle’s bio mom at some point in 2021, so Benson would also have an ally in town when she returns.

1. B&B – Paris And Zoe’s Sibling Rivalry Origins

Spoilers tease viewers will learn more about Paris and Zoe’s backstory as the year progresses. The sisters have been rivals for a long time and it may be disclosed that Paris has some dirt on Zoe. Viewers know when she first arrived in LA, Zoe was stalking her ex Xander. She also wasn’t above keeping her father’s secret, selling baby Beth to Taylor and Steffy to pay off his gambling debts. Is there more to Zoe’s story that only Paris knows, and could it affect Zoe’s relationships with both Zende and Carter?
